GM1 -> RE: GT qs8004 and 8006 heli's (12/27/2012 1:51 AM)

I am going to offer some free advice and remember: free advice is worth every penny you pay for it. I work at Hobbytown USA and we sell a bazillion coaxial helicopters this time of year and usually in Feb we get a BUNCH of folks that really like their "toy" helicopter but want one that will fly around and "do tricks." First thing I do is put them on our demo Realflight 6.5 simulator with a 50 size collective pitch model and SHOW them that flying a real collective pitch 3D model is not like flying their coaxial. I TRY and sell them a sim first and then something like a Blade 120 SR. It seems a bit better for a beginner than the mCPX as it is larger and easier to work with. The mCPX is a great little heli BUT it is very small and gets out of sight in a hurry, same with the Nano. When they master the 120 SR, we then recommend the 130X or even a 450 size model depending on the pilot's proficiency. Point of this post, go from Coaxial to SIM, then CP model. Gordie
