This is an old plane, very solid, all sheeted and painted. I think it looks like a Smith Miniplane, but not sure. Thanks for any help.

Definately not a Smith miniplane. Not sure of its idenity and very close to the Sig Hog Bipe except that airplane has I struts for the interplanes.

Your right John,

It looks very close to a Sig Hog Bipe. It could be someone did some redesigning on a Hog.

The vertical tail feathers aren't right. And, like you said the Interplanes are not right. Also the headrest isn't the same?
