I'm starting a Tiger Moth by D&L Designes..

http://www.dldesigns.net/tmoth.htm

I got the plans, wood short kit, spares, landing gear made up, and the cabines made up..
I'm using a magnetic building board system which I've used before and it works great..

Here are a few pictures of the first of 4 wing panels.. Just about ready to glue the ribs to
the main spars, TE spare and LE spare.. I've added 2 ribs to the original design because
I use WorldTex covering and wanted the distance between ribs a tad closer.

I'll be posting more pictures are the winter project proceeds.

(4) wing panels are done, top and bottom wings, and the trailing edge sheeting is glued on.. Now before final sheeting, I need to plan the aileron servos, make up the ailerons, and figure out how I want to prep for the (2) 1/4" wing dowel installation. There are balsa blocks that go between the #1 and #2 ribs and the dowels are installed there.. I think I'll put a 1/8" piece of plywood between those ribs, glued to the 2 main spares that the 1/4" dowels will go thru also..

60 to 90 seems big for this plane no? I;ve been looking for a somewhat inexpensive nice sized moth... thanks for the link. Are you going with a 4 stroke... that would really sound nice...

Worked on the balsa filler blocks that the 1/4" dowels go thru for holding the lower wing on to the fuselage. I'll drill the final 1/4" hold in the LE after
fiberglassing the center section.

Have you decided on colors... i never can and the moth came in so many combos... though to me you can't beat silver/blue or silver/red though their are a lot of them out there.

This design/short kit is simi-scale.. not pure scale.. I'm making a lot of changes but not going to go crazy... does this mean you're
not going to follow the thread any longer..

sport/stand-off scale. Yes, the full size Tiger Moth has barn-door ailerons on the bottom wing only, and the hinge line is sealed with fabric on the top side. Here's a photo of mine.

Joined the bottom wing. Removed the center rib to make room for my speaker and added spar reinforcement for strength.

Great build. What's the wingspan?

Wow! Beautiful!  But doesn't it go in reverse, with that prop?    How long have you had it, and where do you fly out of? What a great bird.

No, but you've got to use left rudder instead of right. I've had it around 6 years. It hasn't been flown in about 4 years but I keep it flight ready. The photo was taken this past summer. Hopefully this coming summer, I can get some flying in. The price of avgas has gotten way out of hand:-(
