Our NEAD battleday for November at the AAF Tank Museum at Danvile, went great. Thanks to all who atended despite Hurricne Sandy. For those who couldn't make it NEAD is having a battleday in northern NJ. We will battle our tanks next Sunday 12-2-12 at 10 AM at Sherry Field, 133 Lafayette Washington Twp (Bergen Cty zip 07676) at the Westwood, NJ boarder. Anyone is welcome to attend even if you do not have a tank. I'll loan you one of mine to try. Come join us for some RC tank fun. This is our least NEAD event for the year and I hope to have one in the snow if mother nature allows.

Can someone please provide exact address of the location ? I am new to Tanksand even though I got a Sherman, my radio (Airtronics SD-10G ) was not compatible . I am waiting on a futaba 6 ch radio (should be here Monday). Would liek to bring my 5 year old if that is ok and may need some help with setup.

If Sherry Field had a street address on GPS it would be 100 Lafayette Avenue, Wash. Twp (Bergen Cty), N J 07676. It is on the Westwood boarder (97 Lafayette Avenue is right across the street from the park). It is just off exit 168 of the Garden State Parkway. Lafayette Avenue is a two lane (NOT 4) that runi in between Ridgewood Road to the north and 4th and Forest Avenues to the southeast. I will post signs if I have time.

As for the picture...

That would be Bretts T 34. His Uncle Valdimir owns a bed factory in Smolensk. He says the bed spring frames keep the panzerfausts from turning his Russian tank into Swiss cheese.

I just went to Sherry Field and our area is all clear. We just need to blow some leaves away and set up the buildings and trees. I sure hope Charlie can bring his bridge. There are huge pliesl of leave but no that will effect us. A tree had blown down right next to the field but is fell to the west in the easterly winds and away from the field. Bring a table, chair and drinks. We will opder out lunch as usual. IF we want we can run some night battles at twilight. We muster at 10 AM on Sunday.

Weather Delay!!!!

Due to the heavy fog today we will delay our start time by one hour. I don't want anyone getting hurt so be careful. Many deer hits and crashes already from the fog.

We had about 9 tankers for the NEAD battle yesterday. We lost one or two to the dense fog that socked in the NYC metro area. I even had to delay the start time for an hour. Scott got there and cleaned the field of leaves and such. Thanks Scot. I picked up some larger branches last week from the Sandy storm debris. We then all walked the field before the battles to clear the twigs and such from jamming our tracks. Andrew came down from NY and stayed for a little while but he had to scoot off to work. Damn. As ususal we has a group of spectators who joined in the tank action. We loaned them some tanks and they battled each other while we enjoyed our pizza lunch. We had good balance of Allies vs. Axis so that became the rule of battle for the day. Wayne had his bothers and nephews from around NJ meet us there. We all had a great time with them. He and I loaned and traded tanks like a big family should. Wayne had a Sherman with two TX units. One for Tx the driver and one Tx for the gunner. Talk about teamwork. I was surprisingly better for first timers tank battlers since they had to do less multi-tasking. Thanks Wayne....I hope you will bring it back soon. I want to try it too. My camera was on the fritz so Wayne and his brother's Curt and Mark took pix and video for us all. I'm sure they will post them soon. This is the last of 15 NEAD events that we had in 2012.

Our next battleday will be in real snow. So get the white-wash camo ready men.....lest you stick our a like a Harre Krishna selling flowers at a Amish barn raising.
