Well I don't have that charger but most of them seem to work the same with the same or similar menus.  Input voltage voltage error means the voltage input at the charger from your DC source or the internal power supply is less than what is set up in the "user set up menu" for "input voltage level".  It usually comes up if your car battery is getting low and you have a large battery on charge. I have never seen it come on with my charger on AC.

it is possible it was set to a high value at the factory maybe.  So turn the charger on, press the main menu button, usually the button on the left to select user input and then the inc/dec button until you see input power power level or cut off menu and the setting there and read the value. if you are running off a car battery it should read close to the car value  (11.5 to 14.5 volts) or so depending if the engine is running or off

. You want the alarm setting to be set to a value lower than your power source level.

I usually set mine to 10 volts or so.  You should set all these user things before you connect any batteries to charge on the charger.

Hope this helps.

Have fun
JIm D.

What AC & DC Sources? are they capable of delivering a constant 11V to 18V at 8A?
If a large battery is to be charged then the old field SLA (GellCell) starter / charger  battery of 7A are
no longer suitable in most instances.

1.  Input Voltage Error - as per attached extract from Manual.
2.  If a battery to be charged was connected?
X-1 Charger
Manual page 19 = If the voltage of any cell
is abnormal, the X1 will show an error message and forcibly terminate
the program. So if there is battery damage or a disconnection, you can
see the error message and press INC to know which cell is damaged

Also I think if you have it connected to LIpo  and do not have the right balance lead or balance connection and select the balance mode I think  you will get voltage error. Did you try just charging for a bit in "charge" mode?

i realize you have to cover the basics for the newbie......I have been with this hobby for 20yrs. I cannot access any menu functions, whether I am connected to 120v a/c or 13v dc. . The charger on power-up sounds the alarm and screen reads the input voltage error message.

I sent it back to Horizon to get a new one.......But they are on global back-order. I bought another brand that is the same, but has a USB to allow software updates
