Long time lurker here. I just ordered an Associated RC10B4.1 brushless RTR to start racing with my son. I know this is a tamed down version of the world car but it is a good place to start. I have a question about the antenna on the car itself. Coming over from the airplane side of the hobby I am familiar with 2.4 Ghz radios. The receivers use 2 very short antenna but the 2.4Ghz system on this car uses a standard whip antenna like the am radio I used back in the early 90's ( I raced an RC10 back then too). Will I have to swap receivers to get rid of that ugly long antenna?

Status: offline 		If it's 2.4ghz the antenna should only be about 4-7" long. Most of the time now a days, the antenna tube only needs to be a few inches long. So, on ST's MT's and other vehicles it hides under the body, but since you'll have a buggy, the body leaves NO room to hide that antenna tube inside of it. This means that yes, you will have a short antenna tube sticking out of the car, but not way out. Swapping receivers won't remedy this. All surface receivers will have the short antenna that needs the short tube. I hope this helps.
