Hi all.  I currently have a 8000kv castle motor in my rc18t.  I am going to with an Aon 6500kv 24mm can motor and go 3s.  I had a hard time finding a larger can motor like this.  The 26mm castles are not available and reedy is only 22.5mm.  The trinity mini is only offered in 8500kv but it looks like a freakin hoss!  I may give it a go on 2s.  My goal is to break 70 mph.  I have a mcallister #99 body for downforce and aerodynamics.  What other motors that are suitable for use with my quark 33a esc?

Never heard of that company. It is not nearly possible to do this with any 1/18 motor. Even 1/10 brushless cars with the highest up systems cannot reach that speed. You should aim for an OFNA JL 10e GT and a 550 brushless system. Then, you may get between 60 and 80 mph on 3 or 4s (if the esc can handle a 4s pack).

Oh, and thanks for the reply collector, and I look forward to proving you wrong.  60-70 is very doable with a properly setup rc18.

I'm telling you, it is not possible with a 380 motor. Yes, with a Mamba MAX (1/10 scale motor/esc) you would easily hit in the mid 60s. The venelion is the most powerful motor on the block, and it is the best bet. If you can't reach 60+ with the Castle motor, then the new motor is downgrading.

I know I can hit 50's with a 2s 8000kv.  I've clocked it back when I owned a radar gun.  That's a 20 mm can.  I will have no problem with 3s.  I have given up on cermark.  That motor would have been ok, but they have pissed me off and they can suck it.  I ordered on 11/20, got the automated message email and that was it.  I called and told them I wanted a 2mm shaft and waited... Last week I called again and was told it shipped.  I still have not been billed for the damn thing.  Still no motor and they won't answer.  They have never responded to emails so don't waste your time.   I'm going with the trinity mini d3.  It's got a 27.5mm can.  I should not even need 3s with that motor.  I still am going to try a few top speed runs and play with gearing.  I ditched the 1/12 body... That was an epic fail.

I guess I was right about Cermark.  They really can't get their **** together.  Oh well! I am happy with my 380 sized Trinity motor.  I am currently geared at 22/60 on 2.5" tires and still have tons more left.  Radar readings soon to come.  Steve Chao if you read this...I hope yall can pull it together.
