i have an old seabold racing 24 ' pickle nose 3.5 K&B  30 nitro had i lot of fun with it.. still runs good..  I just picked up a 40" deep vee haul.   No hole drilled kinda messy but i'll share a pic.
The advice am loking for is drive selection and i have an idea for a weed eater motor i have been saving called "The Eager Beaver" funny name for a weed eater might not work but never know.. I have been reading here and looked at another hobby website to many choices on drives and rudder.  Hobby site advise too Thanks in advance..

Ken.

The hull looks ok to me. the motor might be on the heavy side. I have a motor like the one you stated sitting on my work bench. they seem to have some power to them. I would say that you would want to run a surface drive with that hull and motor combo. but I may be wrong. I have not built my boat as of yet, just gathering parts.

Hi my advice would be forget the weedy motor it will be heavy for a small boat and slow also, far better choice for me would be the new rev unlimited motors from Gizmo,at $110 and free shipping you cant go wrong for a marine engine.I also agree surface drive would be the best way to go,strut or stinger with an offset rudder with water piccups built in.You will need a mount a tuned pipe with header and water cooled flange and also collet and flex shaft and brass tube, drive dog and prop,do some searches on the forum for info on building theres lots to be found. If you send Bruce an email im sure he can put together a kit for you or also checkout zippkits for there hardware packages also good value.

Thanks for the info and the friendly replys.  I was on ebay selling things was a hobby now busy with it..found a drive on accident.

Im not sure so i come to ask.   I think the boat installed on is 59"  Mines 40" and i like the fact the drive cable is in the boat.

Arrowshark hardware, its ok but expensive for what it is in my opinion,go to zippkits or Gizmos and check there hardware i think Tom at Expresscraft also sells hardware.
Mart
this set would be ideal for your boat the one you pictured is a bit too long.

Ordered a Stock version gizmo rev motor last night. Might be little time before its ready but i was suprised to see them for sale again... I ordered the stock version to start this new boat now i need to find a supplier in the area i live in for more parts. It's hard for me to order and not put my hands on the product. Sorry maybe its me lol     Utah stores don't have much for the gas boat field maybe a few things but not as much as the cars and truck. I have read so much so far here. Funny thing is i"m glad i did before i just started drilling holes...So thanks to the forum and the members.

BTW  The pics posted of members boats are inspiring....

Warehouse hobbies also have a pretty complete range for your needs. Their stuff a pretty bullet proof and they used to be the only game in town some 20 years back but now you have options. Zippkits, HOR racing are good value for money. Tom fr Expresscraft is the US distributor for Hor Racing and he is a pretty guy to deal with.

YES, the mounts will work, and most parts are standard for the engines ie: mounts, exhausts, collets ect.
Cheers

Been working a bit on the hull. Had to open up the hole in the top to make room for motor mount runners and reinforce the transom. Most of my main part are here now had a hard time with some of the parts out of stock at most places. Now to design the runners an get them glassed in place. Funny thing is i know now i could buy a hull for less than the time i wil have in this one but i've started now and it will be an achievment. I will keep everyone update if interested..Thanks

Sad but true, you'll learn more from doing it on your own though.

These pics might help this was done by a customer for one of my hulls,i normally fit rails as standard but he wanted to do his on the bench like this and it worked pretty well for him.Once your happy lay it in the boat mark where it needs to be scuff and clean the area and then tack in place using a hot glue gun, remove things from the rails and glass in using 2" cloth tape and resin.

I had it all layed out the same way but with cardboard. lol  Trying to get an idea on height of rails and spacing of radio box. I like the idea thanks for the input gives me a kick in the pants to wok on it.

Found a yard of carbon fiber. Once finished i thinking of laying it in between the reail and up the side. Not for stregnth more for a nice clean look like some of the masterpeices.
