Well after 2 crashed attempts - my third one was awesome!!!

For 5 minutes I hovered around the soccer field and got a good feel for this jet, I had figured out what I did wrong the first couple of times compared to my much smaller parkflyers.. Can't wait for the next chance to go back up!!!

LOVE THIS JET!!!!!

Very graceful flying plane...doing some small changes to keep orientation good since it does kinda disappears on itself. LoL!

Turbo, the Phase Three F-16 has a cult-like loyal following (see threads in the archives here and elsewhere) and around it is fun, longevity, forgiveness, etc...Do you see this in the U-2 and, how high are you flying her? How solid are those wings and how about....repairing them if the time comes?

I have crashed it twice and the front end was totally destroyed- but thanks to Gorilla glue I was able to put it back together and almost straight!

There was a slight amount of deformity but not bad and most of all it flies with grace.

I took it up about 200 feet I guess - I am still learning on how to fly this one but after a few more flights I will try for a higher altitude and see how well she can take a glide down to the ground from way up..

And those wings are pretty solid as well - there might be some flapping going on if you cross into the wind but from what I have seen in videos the real jet did the very same thing.

Went out again this morning and went for another good flight gathering data.

1. this plane flies with grace and will climb pretty quickly
2. The wings will flex like a glider which kinda freaked me out to see but a 2 inch flex in a dive is what I thought it did.
3. Speed is not super fast but it can get itself out of trouble if you jam it ;-)

My radio I need to ditch since it's a Spectrum DX5e - I have a DX6i in layaway now.. need that programming that the DX5e does not have to offer.

maybe some video later this weekend.

Update on this jet - repainted it and switched over to the DX6i radio- now we have great control over this aircraft.
Now running 7-8 minutes and believe that I can go up too 10-12 minute range by just managing the throttle.

Also picked up a second U2 to join my "Airforce" :-)

Added the Flight stabilizer from HK to the jet and then turned it on...must had the gain too high because the wings were jumping up and down which looked funny while going straight but once ina turn the jet was smooth.. Hope to test it out again shortly since I lowered the gain to were the Ailerons move about 4mm tops and not 10! LoL..

will report when I get a chance to try her again.
