I recently purchased a Byron Beechcraft Staggerwing. The aircraft is set up for a gas motor but no motor was installed. Otherwise the aircraft is complete. I traded a buddy for the work to install a power 160 electric outrunner. It and the ESC is installed. It will have 10 cells powering it. I havent cycled the retracts yet to test them for leaks but hope to get that done soon. I will probably get the reciever in and the electrical system working first. I will post pictures when I take some.

Please do. The more pics and info the better. Wasn't the air tank for those retracts a large plastic soda bottle?

I made a trade with a buddy of mine, he installed the motor and ESC for me. He did a really great job building the firewall and mount boxes. When I got the plane, the front fuselage was open, there wasnt even a firewall. I am especially happy with the way he designed the battery installation. It looks like it will be easy to get battteries in and out at the flying field. Here are some pictures I took after I got the plane back from him. I looked it over, sure enough, there is a soda bottle for the air tank. I havent tried to cycle the gear yet. I will probably replace the retract valve, most likely it leaks. I hope the cylindersd dont leak. I installed a reciever and battery, all the fuselage servos respond. I have the aluminum spinner,, I will have to drill and tap the aluminum pointed prop nut to attach the spinner. Here is what I have so far.

You will like that kit. It's a great flyer. Mark has some good kits and have built many of them. Good luck with that.
