Hi guys,

A little pointer needed please.

DX18, 9020 Rx, need to connect telemetry module to bind/data port on rx but have no spare outputs and one of two batt suppplies from Gemini currently residing in that port.

I'm making up a short y lead as the telemetry module needs to be close to the rx, I seem to remember reading somewhere that if you y a battery to a rx port you must do away with one of the posive wires on the y lead or am I safe to just go ahead and y the telemetry box and battery to the bind/data port without blowing anything up?

Thanks in advance,

Gary.

I've used a regular Y harness to connect extra batteries to receivers that only have a single battery port many times.
However, the 9020 receiver has 12 connectors, are you using ALL of them? If not, why not simply connect the telemetry
Transmitter directly to the bind/data port, connect RX battery 1 to the battery port and RX battery 2 to any open receiver port?

Thanks for getting back, the single battery port is also channel 10 which I am using for lights so batt 1 was in the bind port and batt 2 in the expansion box port, as it's a jet with crow etc. all channels are being used.
That's why I thought batt and tele into bind port.

Interesting that, the TM1000 also has a four pin socket but no cable or plug supplied to fit it. For future telemetry options according to the instructions.

I have a Competition SRS with the socket also, looks like we are missing a cable then. Anyone???

Oh well, it was just a thought but since all the ports are being used, the Y harness will work just fine for connecting the 2 receiver batteries in parallel on the receiver buss.

I just purchased one of the JetCat Telemetry modules and it included a 4 pin cable about 6 inches long to connect it to the TM1000.
Apparently Spektrum provides the cable along with the telemetry sensors that use it...

Ahh, thanks for that, I've got one arriving Monday.

That'll be the next problem then, my JC ecu is miles from my rx/TM1000!

Yep.. just put a Y cord in the Data port and power it... Putting battery power into the receiver via the data port is perfectly ok.. both my kingcats are that way with the TM1000 and an output from the regulators on Y's..

Thanks Goose, I assume you have no problems with the 1000 working ok then, the book says it must be on a short lead and of course a y will extend that length?
Gary.

Its a four to four pin cable, comes with the Jetcat sensor.

I wouldn't mess with making cables up, not sure until I get mine tomorrow how they are wired, I'll let you know.

no issues..all three of my tm1000s are on Y cords.. all it does is use the voltage for power, and the sig out for modulation.. it reads the same codec as the little pushbutton monitor.. In fact you can put the data display and the tm1000 on a Y cord and they will work together just fine..

That's great, I did in fact make a short y lead yesterday as I had ran out of y's in my stock, good to know it works with the little logger though. Just waiting for the JC sensor to arrive this morning, the system works fine so far,
Gary.
