Hi! I am new to the forum and it looks like a great place. I started with a Syma 107g, 111G, then a WL toys v911, and now a Blade 120SR which is in for some warranty work.

I moved from near sea level to 7000 feet. The poor little  V911 has to work itself to death to stay up in normal flight for more than one minute, then it flies a couple inches off the ground until the battery is depleted. I am guessing that is because it has something to "push against". I upgraded to 150 ma batteries, but that doesn't help much. Are there some longer blades, more powerful motor or some other modifications that can be made to keep it aloft longer?

Thanks for any help.

Yes, trash it.  Buy a heli that can be upgraded and handle the higher altitude.  The air is thinner, so your performance is going to be  less.   Also going to a bigger mah only keeps  you going longer, it doesn't give you more power.

What do you recommend in a four channel fixed pitch? I am pretty new to this. Thanks.

Flying it as a collective pitch will be about the same.  I have flown the MSR (fixed pitch) and MCPX (collective pitch) and found them to be similar.  Because there are so many good somme CP heli's, not too many good FP heli's around any more.  If you really want a FP, I would go with the Blade MSR.  I wouldn't recommend the MCPX unless I thought it was a good choice, but the MSR works well and is very durable.  Also don't forget, you are at a high altitude and a CP can be more beneficial in your setting.  I am not sure how well FP will work in a high altitude environment.
