Well, just ordered the Hype X7 Plus (80w) charger, plus 2x Nvision 4200 60C 3s Lipos, and an adaptor cable..

Yes, I've been reading, and have more to do. Kind of nervous about it.

Gonna go to the hardware store now and look at metal boxes...

Looks like you got some nice stuff. Don't be to nervous though, as long as you obey the rules then nothing will happen. i used to be like that for the 1st month, charging it in a safety back. Now I just charge its outside of the safety bag, but I am always in the house when its charging anyway. They don't explode randomly or anything like that and they are not out to kill you and everything you have worked for like some people still believe. Just like charging your cell phone except a bit more complicated as far as choosing amps and voltage.............

However if one swells up bad or becomes a taco due to a massive crash, a steel metal box is a great way to hold it before you decide to dispose of it thoughtfully (aka blow it up in a parking lot)

Will the nvision batteries fit the mt4 battery compartment?

I read that the mt4 takes upto 138mm battery and the nvision are 142mm

Just a heads up.

He might have to some light dremel work. There is this rectangular elevation thing which can be dremeled away and will give you probably about 5mm more space

Hmm.. That makes me a bit nervous. Could be why I've not been able to find ANY info on them. They are the cheapest 3s hardcase batteries (with Deans) going, but nobody seems to have them... I assume I could just return them..

BTW, my first shipment arrived yesterday - the Y-cable ha ha.. Question: when you run two packs, what's with the balancer thingies on the lipos?

The balance leads are only for charging and checking voltage,

When you install the batteries in an rc just tuck the balance lead in beside the battery.

Will do, when the weather finally cooperates.. Still negotiating with the wife about when I can open it(%50 of it is my X-mas present)

Think I'll open it on the weekend, threadlock stuff, try to get my head around charging, setting whatever on the ESC, then hopefully run it on X-mas.. What exactly is the process for starters? What's the first thing to do with the lipos? I'm kind of scared of them ha ha.. I've been reading so much about volts, cutoff whatever, programming boards(what is that? Should I buy one?), etc.., I'm not sure where to start.

Also need to buy some lipo safety bags and maybe a big metal box this weekend..

Thanks for all your help btw.

Well when I get them I put them on the charger to make sure they are at around storage voltage. Then I just balance charge them then use them. I only balance charge but many people only balance charge every 5 runs or so. I think it better to balance every time that you can. Try not to leave a lipo fully charged for too long. I aim to use a fully charged lipo with in 24 hours but I have had left a lipo fully charge for a week on some occasions and nothing bad happened.

I've haven't heard of a programming board before, sounds like something that you will use to update software. Did you mean balance board? I believe that charger your getting has a balance board, which allows you to plug in those balance connectors so you can balance charge.

ahhhhhh, I've got on of those that I use with all my hobbywing esc and the mt4 esc (which is a rebranded hobbywing). It allows you to choose if you want no brakes or no reverse, the cut off voltage, the acceleration (punch control), Brake force and reverse force. It makes life easy when it comes to adjusting the stuff I just mentioned, you don't have to count beeps and follow some flow chart. If your not low on cash after getting all that stuff it won't be a bad idea to get one, but its not necesary to run your truck
