Chris...

Sure is hard to debate that one... My dads friends had two of them.... rented to the military back when, and due to tax complications, chopped them up with axes and chainsaws to save money..... such a crime... Somewhere I have a cabin map light from one of them..

OK now comes the monkey wrench. The corsair to me is a bent wing retard. Never really hated it but never really liked it either. Ok
I have my flame suit on so.....flame on!!! .
While I am at it now, the Cub is ridiculous....the only aircraft that can fly backwards in a good headwind!!!!

A10 Warthog. So ugly it becomes beautiful.
However since real airplanes have two wings.....The Skybolt.

I would say this is quite a subjective subject. My opinion would be the Nieuport 11 bebe. There are not too many famous airplane paintings in art museums but one impressionistic oil painting stands out of a lone Nieuport 11 suspended in a sea of clouds.

Bugatti 100P - 1939

Not only absolutely gorgeous in that traditional racing blue, but hugely advanced for its time... I'd have one.

The Bugatti definitely, along with the Wright Flyer and Hughes Racer. But I'm really partial to the USS Enterprise, iV

I'm not one to fawn over airliners, but I think you got to add the Conny to the list. Long legs, big cans, and plenty of curves - there's not a straight line on it. To me it seems to have an iconic art deco feel that will never be outdated.

There are so many beautiful planes that have come and gone. Although the P-51 is my all time favorite , a real stand out and perhaps the best looking multi -engine plane is the B-47 Stratojet.

F-104.

If it were a woman, it would be a Supermodel. From the side, at a slight bank. And both would be a pain to land, if you get to fly one.

I have to admit that even though it's awfully "slick" and even though I have a strong bias towards bumpy, funky, and yes even fugly aircraft, that Bugatti sure makes my list of most beautiful aircraft.

I'm a sucker for the Golden age aircraft. My vote is for the Aeronca LC. I'd love to build one one day.

No doubt about it the Bugatti is beautiful, and like I said in my first post the Conny is one of the most sexiest designes ever produced.
