Just went thru a dissappointing issue with HobbyKing. I had purchased a Sback342 30cc. It arrived with a damaged canopy, so I contacted HK looking for a replacement. Guess what? There aren't any replacement parts available for it! If the "big three" automakers, Tower Hobbies, or Horizon didn't carry spare parts for the products being sold by them, they probably would be out of business in less than a month. Who else but HK would do this and leave the customer with a white elephant? I became curious so I checked on other airplanes they were selling only to find out that parts were not available for most of them either. So, whether your plane is damaged in shpg. or flight, your screwed! While the prices are attractive, you are really not getting a good deal in the end result. In fact after talking with HK, I realized that customer service is something they never heard of & customer service is not of any concern to them. So, if you're thinking of buying a model from them, it's "buyer beware" guys. Don't let the price blind you, in the end you're not getting any "bang for your buck". Instead you are being decieved as to the real value of your purchase. I certainly will not purchase another model from them.

Another one bits the dust and learns the hard way. Ask the questions first. Dennis

A quick search would have revealed the many HK threads about their poor support.

You should delete your phone # from your sig.

Josh, unfortunately you got a lesson that cheaper doesn't always equal less expensive in the long run.

You could have had a Pilot RC kit with higher quality parts from Chief Aircraft for a few dollars more and your issue, if you had one, would have been resolved with one phone call.

The excuse I always hear from the fan boys is "it's so cheap, it don't matter". What that means to me is. You don't matter and the product don't matter. Dennis

The fan boys are getting paid to say  how good   Hobby Krap is.    It's  a  real shame a  hobby company has to stoop so low  just to sell their junk.  If it were any good, and if their service was any good,   they wouldn't need the shills to help move they inventory.

Sad !!

Frank

That'st the part that really stinks about that company is the fact tha they pay people to lie on the hobby sites and tell everyone how good they are. No spares is only the tip of the iceberg but it proves the point that Hobby King is just a rip off with a pretty website and attractive prices to reel in the suckers.
