Hi-
What kind of tricks and techniques can you use to increase lexan paint's adhesion to lexan?
Should the body be scuffed? Sould the coats be applied as wet as possible? .......

I can never get the type of adhesion you get from the factory painted bodies.Their paint dosn't seem to
chip or crack at all unless there is a huge impact.
Thanks

If anything, step 1 is most likely your problem;

This is how you do it:
Step 1: Wash the body, as it still has mold release juice on it from the factory, which prevents paint from sticking right.
Step 2: Get RC Body paint, as this is different from "lexan specific" paint somehow, but it actually is.
Step 3: Do all of your masking ON THE INSIDE; I suggest using Liquid Masking tape or Frog Tape, as others tend to bleed through around the edges.
Step 4: Trim the body. You do this before you paint because it eliminates the possibility of you accidentally scratching your paint.
Step 5: Paint the body ON THE INSIDE in EXTREMELY LIGHT coats, so the first coat is barely visible, the second is slightly more visible,etc. Leaving arund 1-2 minutes for each coat to dry. It may take 20 coats, but it gives a really nice look afterwards.
Step 6: Remove the plastic film from the outside.

Tada!

You'd be suprised as to how many newbies paint their rc bodies on the outside.
