Status: offline 		About two months ago I bought a Emaxx 3906 brushed. I am new to RC cars so I have a few questions. My first question whether or not I can upgrade to the Turnigy TrackStar 2650KV 1/8th Brushless Motor with the Turnigy 160A 1:8th Scale Sensorless ESC w/Fan. I was mainly looking for making it faster because my friend and I race and he has the Earthquake 8e brushless. So I would like to get somewhere around that speed. If This upgrade would work then what other upgrades should I make so nothing breaks. My second question is what type of shocks should I get for racing. Lastly what else should I do to make it faster. I have two 5000 mah batteries already.Thanks

Status: offline 		I ran the 2560kv trackstar motor in my savage flux,

On 4s it was a handful standing backflips were easy,

but even running at half throttle and tap the trigger the truck takes off and goes uncontrollable,

In my opinion you should be looking at something a little tamer for your truck,

Perhaps a 2200kv leopard motor, even that could destroy the emaxx Diffs first run out,

I recently converted a losi lst to brushless, using a Keda 2364kv motor on 4s,

First run out it blew both Diffs within 15mins on Tarmac,

Perhaps if the truck was running on loose surface the Diffs might have lasted longer.

Is there anything I can upgrade so that I can use the turnigy? I was really looking to get my top speed around 60-70 without it blowing up.

I now think that I am going to use a MMM 2200kv combo with 6s batteries. I am getting alluminum front and rear bulks, the traxxas 2075 steering servo, an alluminum chassis, new tires and Alluminum shock towers. Am I missing anything to make this truck amazing?

Status: offline 		Your forgetting its still going to be an Emaxx,

So it's never going to be amazing,

Don't waste money on it, it will never take 6s running,

4s will tear up the Diffs and gearbox alone,

Never mind the weak chassis design.

Status: offline 		Ive been reading around and people say if i upgrade almost everything to alluminum and the diffs to emaxx 3908 then i will be fine. Do you have something against Emaxx?

And then change the Diffs,

Emaxx are known to be a weak chassis design,

Don't know many people who would put that much time, effort and cash into an emaxx,

There are better trucks stock than a hoped up emaxx

Well I want to make the car that I have now better before I buy a new one. So I think Im just going to make these changes... Oh but what are the best bashing shocks?

gearbox, diffs, shafts, stronger servo for all the extra weight, 2.4 radio if you haven't all ready, shocks for all this extra weight.Rpm arms, new knuckles,new turnbuckles, Skids.
You don't have a 3906 anymore, you have a complete new truck. But then there is batteries, do you have lipo's and a lipo charger.
The one thing that is needed is, driving over 50mph takes quite a bit skill.
using 6S you'll need stronger than the stock brushless diffs, and stronger than stock shafts.
i have the 3906 and just use the dewalt motor, much cheaper and can keep up with most things off road and beats an hpi nitro evo on road.

Status: offline 		I have a emaxx brushless edition that has only been run on 6s. No problems yet. The rear driveshaft yokes are starting to stretch but other than that it's fine. Running 6s is fine if you use ur brain. Just intentionally abusing the truck will rip the emaxx apart especially with this much power. But if you squeeze on 'er nicely and use some common sense you can have a 60 mph monster truck that handles nicely. Weak points are shock towers and bulkheads. My diffs are fine but I do maintain my trucks

 I found lots of the things you listed except the gearbox and yes I have lipo batteries and a charger. I am going to use the emaxx 3908 differential because I heard that it is way stronger and it still fits perfectly.

Status: online 		That is just the receiver only. If you lock the gearbox in hi gear you can use a two channel system. If you still need gear change or add a remote lighting system you'll need more than 2 channels

The centre shafts will depend on what gearbox and diffs you use. The 3908 diffs are direct fit in bulkheads but are slightly shorter and with the 3906 gearbox being a different size this could affect the length required.

For the shocks, Ofna front's seem to be popular on the maxx, If you can find a set of proline powerstroke shocks for the maxx these are great but you can only buy used and expensive.

With everything you are going to build a new truck and there is nothing worth taken off the 3906 to put on the new build, unless you still want to keep the narrower stance.
If i was you I'd put a larger brushed motor in and do the mild upgrades. google Emaxx FAQ for lots more info.

Status: online 		thats with on road tyres on wet grass.
Then i would get this click or this click along with a different truck because the 3906 just isn't up to the job of high speed/powerfull systems. It's ok brushed with some modifications. Mine beats an hpi nitro evo on road and is just controlable. If your doing over 50 your just going to crash or constantly break the driveline.
