I want to buy a brushless 1/24 Micro Rally. What are your thoughts. Is it a good buy? Are there any real issues with these running 3S Lipo?

Those are cool little cars.  I have driven all 3; the truggy, SC and Rally.  I think the Rally is the coolest one but, it's weakness is that it doesn't jump very well compared to the trucks.  The problem is with the front bumper and the shape of the body.  It digs into the ground upon landing while the truck's bodies don't sit so low in the front.  Otherwise it handles low-pile carpet like a champ.

I am very much a beginner to this hobby, but this past Christmas my 5 and 9 year old sons each received a brushless rally car, and I received the brushless SCT.

The SCT does tend to land better, where the rally cars do dig and bounce. My kids don't have a sense of price related to these little cars, so no jump is too big. They've set up a board onto a folding chair and launched their cars off of it. sometimes they land and continue on, others they dig, bounce, and slide on the roof or side.

My SCT tends to be more forgiving due to the better ground clearance. As these are quick little cars, they take some time to get used to. The kids (and I) have sent them into walls and other stationary objects at full speed. We've seen no damage after a week and a few days of use. We will be buying additional batteries soon as we run through 3 charges a day on weekends.

I've a lot to learn about this hobby, but these little cars are very fun and are the perfect size to run in our 2 car garage.

These are great cars. The only problem I've had with mine are heat issues, but it may be just my particular car. I race mine with my brother in law and nephew, and mine seems to be the only one that thermals. I have fixed the problem with an aftermarket open chassis, that opens the air flow through the car. I also added some holes in the body to help with the air flow. Now it's a great little car.

I love my Brushless Micro Rally. I only have a 2s Lipo, but it is still pretty fast. I shaved the steering knuckles on mine after maybe two runs lol.
Also tried duct tape over the stock tires for some kitchen drifting..... it works ok, not the best hough..... I have a few other ideas in mind.
