Hi,
I just found a Sirius Limited Edition FAST FIELD 2 amp charger in the back of my garage. I might have won in a card game some years back. Anyway I am not sure how it is used. ( It has two fans on the bottom and says 2amps on the front)

This is what I discovered

1) When I charge bats below 1000 m amps it always peaks way too early and I cannot get a complete charge. I have repaired this by cycling the batts to recovery after being restored with a different (Sirius) charger.

2) It does completely charger my big RX packs 1600 + m amps. But the results are not repeatable. It "seems" to peak to peak to early after the 2 or 3 ( successful) charges . After that it again seems to peak to early also . After several full charges I need to cycle the packs again to restore them back to capacity.
This cycling is done with a Multiplex Changer set at .5 amps. ( Very Slow)

Ok . Am I or this unique charger doing something wrong? Is this the way it is supposed to operate ie it cannot be used on a consistent basis.

I don't want to take any unnecessary risk with a battery and destroy an expensive aircraft. Tx and Rx bats are like condoms always buy the best . You will pay for it later ( and much more )if you dont.

Thanks,

Allan Schneider

I have the smaller charger, and I have found that unless it is a big battery, it just charges too hard. I know on stock JR 600mah flight packs it will cook them. It has ruined packs as fast as 5 charges. I think if you want to charge smaller packs the cells need to be fast charge type. I only use it for bigger batteries. I have tried to do multiple top offs and that seems to hurt batteries too. I think it tries to shoves so much amps in no matter what before it wants to start reading peak.
