They've missed a trick here, id rather by a more heavily upgraded and not have the expensive and frankly pointless 2.4ghz system.

They are nearing the Tamiya prices, but they are not Tamiya.

I think these are targeted at a different buyer than a Tamiya buyer. All shapes and sizes, my friend.

look better then here you can buy a tamtiger  for 400/450 euro

the taigen update Tieger I goes from 200 to 350 depending on what upgrade you choose ... if i must choose rather save a bit more for a descent rc tank

no offense but i think you'll see my point too

Here i see them for around $800 thats about 600 euro.

Taigen much, much less, in the 250 euro.

A tamiya tiger for 400 euro, thats about $500... i wish... Even ordering one at that price, once taxes and duty is done, it will be back up $700-$800.

You are very lucky to have those prices, enjoy your properly priced Tamiya's

Edit: Taigen Tiger 1 Full Metal, with shipping, taxes and duty will come out to around $550. If i walk to my local R/C - Hobby store, they want $803 with taxes for a Tamiya Tiger I. Then add the remote/bat.

Even your example is somewhat flawed... 200 euro is not 'close' to 400 euro...

Doesn't matter, if something enters canada you have to pay both taxes + duty fee and usually a carrier fee.

It adds up very quickly. I ordered a scanner, $35 with shipping from a store in New York. I had to pay an additional $20 of fee's once it was at  my door.

My big scale r/c tugboat, about 5 foot long was $400 (just the fiberglass hull). Shipping from England $70. At my door i was asked to pay $211 of import duty fee's + courier fee's. I don't pay, they take the item away and ship it back.

Some people have to pay this, some don't. I find that 90% of my orders i have to pay, while my friend in Toronto is more around 40%.

I think i would need to find a friend in the US and have everything shipped there . Then just go and pick it up. Even a little gas money is better than those ridiculous Duties.

Hopefully they'll do better with tanks than they did with their line of overpriced RC boats they were closing out last year.

Here's the main company site: http://www.imexrc.com

No such thing as 'little gas' with a supercharged ford mustang

But yes expensive items i wait, go to the US to see family and bring stuff back...

Hobby items are duty-free... right... i keep telling them, they keep taxing me LOL
