The short of it is, a friend of mine was given this and he gave it to me. Which was great because I was looking for a project. The best part was no one knew what it was. After a few hours of research I found it. RD Logics SHO. Very simuilar to the Mugen MBX5. It was driven hard and put away wet as you can see from the pictures.

You can see how nasty and rusted even the crome and plated pieces are.

Start of disassembly

The motor mount and center diff screws were stripped so I had to drill them out.

After using simple green, sand blasting, a buffer and other chemicals to clean the individual parts.

You can see how clean the chrome came.

Sand blasted some parts for some black oxide and a seal coat. Little protection over bare metal.

Allowing the seal coat on the parts to dry.

Now assembly. The only parts needed to buy were a front bumper, shock boots, brake calipers, glow plug and some hardwear.

Then I taped off the body to sand blast and needed a little paint thinner to get the factory paint out.

Finished

Looks good all shined up. Ive owned one, they are turds tho. Shock shafts are weak, front balls pull out easily, front upper arms are weak, and its heavy as sh*t.

I have replaced most of the screws since the pictures were taken with new button cap hex screws.

I agree it is a very heavy buggy. Not sure how durable it is. After I finished it I gave it back to my buddy as a sort of a gift. Hoping to get a running video of it up soon. :-)
