Yeah they're the only place I saw that had them.

Product on order.

Not to mention it has to come from England. If I didn't have my FLM stuff I'd love to buy a set of Innovative plates, they make very good parts.

I found a post set for a Hyper 10 SC, its only $4 I might as well try it.

Another set for an Ultra?

Might as well upgrade servos, a buddy runs these and likes them:

The mgt fuel tank fits great on top of the flm servo mount plate,

Just relocate your steering servo to one side of the chassis below the tank,

Flm sell alloy servo mounts and your flm chassis will be pre drilled to take these,

Here's some pics of my conversion

Sparky I have all the FLM pieces to do the conversion, I really want to use the 250cc tank for the extra run time- also it fits in the frame great and looks factory.

Shark- I don't know if those will work, I'm looking for Hyper 1/7 mounts but who knows, I will get them a shot.. Hell I should just make my own on a lathe at school.

You know what, being an engineering student and suffering from no sleep from exams and projects the last 2 weeks leads to me being a dumb@$$. I'll try out the mounts I checked out before for a cleaner appearance and if they don't work I'll just do that. Thanks!

I ordered everything I need tonight along with servos and all just to update the truck. Its going to be nice finally joining the midtank crowd with no half tank lean and not busting tanks every few weekends.

So what are the main benefits of running with a Mid Tank?

Is it mainly to protect it from damage?

Or are there any other benefits?

Cheers

Aside from the benefit of damages from side mount (you were correct), it is also a way to eliminate the half tank engine leaning issue often experienced with the stock savage tanks. The other benefit is the fact of extra run time as well as keeping a clean appearance with everything tucked neatly in the chassis. The only reason I chose to do it is because I hadn't done that mod yet and liked how it looked.

Yes I went through 3 tanks this year and I only ran a gallon of fuel if that much, it was really pissing me off. I've gone through 5-6 tanks since I bought the Savage back in '04.

Another thing to note is weight bias. The truck is no longer tail heavy, wheelies are harder to pull off and the weight is more consistently distributed since the weight of the fuel being used is placed in the center of the chassis.
