I think this whole thread is amusing-just bored, nothing to do-like to get Frank going but really mean no harm. But on a serious note-I should not act this way and I apologize if I have offended-thanks

Come on Jim,    no need to apologize,   it's  nice to have fun on here sometimes.       I think some people don't know about the   love/hate relationship among friends.

I started to go flying today,  but ended up just laying around all day.     I've been working on my new  delta wing design,  but didn't get much done it today either.   Again,  just laid around all day.

So Jim,  what have you been working on lately.    Something from   HK?      All that money you are making from them you should have a real doozy.

Frank

Frank,
I am rebuilding a concept models fleet bipe-I bought at swap meet several years ago and trying to freshen-it up with new koverall and latex with a new g38. I am going to paint with latex this time.

Hey guys, I just did that last year. I took an old Great Planes Super Aeromaster that was all busted up, replaced all the broken wood, covered it in Koverall and painted it with household latex paint. It turned out really nice. I even made a cowl from scratch for it because it was coming along so well. It was my first attempt at Koverall and I found it much easier than I had anticipated. I sprayed the latex with a cheap HVLP gun from Harbor Freight and I was more than pleased with the result. In fact, it turned out nice enough that a guy who came to do some work just had to have it and gave me way more money for it than I thought it was worth. I'm gonna do another one as soon as I find a plane that needs fabric covering. The really nice thing about latex is that you are virtually unlimited in colors and shades. I put a couple light coats of water based polyurethane over it to seal it. I haven't heard from the guy who bought it so I don't know how the poly held up but I think it is fuel proof.

I have done just one as well-I restored a Fairchild F-22 (it was a orline kit) last year. Koverall and nitrate and poly on top , latex and I used Behr paint sample jars from Home Depot thin with flotrol. It looks good too me-no scale masters but I enjoy it and you sure do not see many on a Saturday morning at the field. I need to find a decent spray gun or learn how to spray paint.

I guess we keep this up this thread will be shut down because we are off topic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jim about some  build pics.    I've had a few bipes in my lifetime.   The best was the   Lou Andrews   Aeromaster.    I'm currently looking for another one.    I have a  nice    OS Max  60  FSR  just waiting for one.   The last one was  silk and dope.

Good work on yours Jollypopper.

I think the Sig Liberty Sport is maybe the best looking bipe out there. The Skybolts are close though. I built this Liberty Sport about 12 years ago and have never flown it. In fact, the engine has never even had fuel in it.

I have a Aeromaster bipe originally built by a cousin of Lou Andrews. I will sell it for $100. I will make a crate and ship it to you via Greyhound for $50. I can take a pic and post it if you are interested

Makes me wonder if Jim must be a Closet HK hater throwing up these monthly Soft Balls for you guys.
Or possibly a setup. Looking at the title phrase, it's possible that some could use it as a prompt, to formulate the use of certain descriptive terms for the place. I'll go no further, use your imagination.

The best way for HK to go away is not to use them. Just like changing the channel. They are certainly not the only option. Except maybe for cheap lipo's.

Pics of my Aeromaster. I added the round cowl because I thought it looked cool. It can be removed with four screws.

This why I love this hobby great forum. Thanks Jim next time I want to sell a plane Im going to do it on the forum instead of buy/sell. I went in our local chinese restaurant and asked if they know where the USA warehouse for HK is and they put their hands over their mouth and started to giggle and point at me, I left.

I just found one local,   just waiting on the owner to decide on a price.   It's never been flown and has a new   OS  SF .61 in it.
