Go to the MN big birds website and look at the photo of the Yellow Jug in the November newsletter. That bolt is in the silver, and not very nticable.

Here is my version, simple. Notice Philips screw head at back fire wall. First set your engine to how you want it, that is measure your cowl to see where the prop washer need to be from fire wall. Once your cowl is set to your liking mark where the cowl ends all the way around on the front of the fuse. Remove engine then put the cowl back on to the line that you make and tape in place so that it don`t move. Now mark inside the cowl all the way around at the fire wall. This mark is where you place either Aluminum or hard wood tabs . Glue in place with goop or gorilla glue. I have used both and they held and that is with glo engines. Coat the hard wood with epoxy to fuel proof. Only thing make sure you place the tabs where they are accessible . All you need is 3 or 4
And yes that LL from Home Depot is my muffler with a gas flex pipe going out the back. It was set up this way for my diesel MDS 148 so the black stuff would`nt get all over the bird. I left it the same way for the gas 26 you see in there now. Still works good and you don`t get that high pitch gas engine sound. Its nice and quiet.
BTW that is a 1/2 inch LL. Depends on what engine you have determines what size LL or LR you use. For a G62 I would use a 1 inch , just have to see how it fit in the cowl.

Hey Rebel flyer,

I hate to be the one to tell you this, but from what I see in photo #4, it appears you have your engine mounted upside down.  Look at the photos below of the R-2800. The mags on top of the gear case are not in the Aero Tech kit of the dummy eng.

Good call on the upside down front ring. Fortunatly it is not glued yet. Thanx for the warning.

The Frank is not mine. It was built by ROY MAYNARD from Minneapolis. It will be for sale very soon though... It was gazed upon by world famous Jeff Quessenberry once.

I could broker the deal guys.

I've used epoxy on the poly fuse and its fine.. Hysol may be better of course. I believe the mantra is you can put epoxy over poly but not the other way around.

I just tacked them in place with ca and hit it with Hysol 120 with a slight mix of micro ballons. Pre mixed epoxy should sit for about 10 minutes to make a nice and Tic mixture for a Tic filet. They will only come loose is a serious crash.

I had one (Yellow Jug)that went straight in, full throttle, and the tailwheel unit was against the firewall. Went through all the formers.

The tip of the spinner was 16"inches down. We almost needed a shovel...

If Jeff gazed upon the Frank, I'm sure the price is now out of my league.

I have heard he has that growing affect on all things airplane related.

Hi,

I don't use regular epoxy on the green glass. It holds great.....for a while. Hysol is good, though. The best is good ol' polyester resin thickened with milled fibers.
