Did manage to get a couple of things done today. Fine tuned the throttle and choke linkage. Bored a hole thru the firewall for the fuel lines and servo wires. Could not find my keyhole bits so I had to use wood boring bits, noe where as clean. And I made the fuel tank tray made.

I find these are the things that can eat up the hours, but it's nice getting them out the way.

You got that right John.
The sanding has beed completed. Well the first round anyway. Wings were mounted, and the struts fitted. Went much easier than I anticipated. And it only took one shim in the front cane of 1/64 to bring all points of the wings to zero incidence. Woo Hoo!

The only major task left is to cut out and build the aileron's. But before I get to that I am going to back-up a little. I want to close up the cabane access holes I left, glass the belly pan, finish installing all the electronics, and get the elevator and rudder hinged. Plenty still to do!

Looking great Robert. Thanks for starting this thread, without it I wouldn't have found access to the plans (they should be here tomorrow ). How much torque do your servos have, and what type of pushrods are you going with?

Brian my servos are Futaba 3010's with 90oz @ 6v. And my pushrods are 4-40, except for the rudder which is 4-40 pull-pull.

I have to agree it does look good on it's wheel's. Unfortunately,  well maybe not unfortunately, but I have reached that point where what little that is left is all the slow, painstaking, detail stuff. So it will be slower from here on out. Right now I am sorta done untill some supplies come in. But still a few little things to eat up some hours.

I spent half an hour today Robert wiring up the cockpit panel. I had a little chuckel to myself when i realised that the keys turned the LED's on.

My panel is being made here in the states from http://www.iflytailies.com/.
The tailfeathers have been hinged. Now to pin and glue them.

No. These are the Dubro small. I did not care for how little wood was left around the Robart hinges.

That was pretty much what i used.

I was having a look around at that link you posted. What are you doing for a control stick and how far are you going with cockpit detail ? I was going to wait till i have the pilot in place to figure out what would be seen before making any final decision.

I'll post a pic of the pilot i'm trying to get, but again it's in Germany and i'm having a hard time getting a price from the guy, all he will tell me is delivery time is may 2013.

I have the plans of a full size for reference to the tube framing and was planning on a fully detailed cockpit. How far I actually go depends on how it's going. You know, if I can finish before the itch to fly it takes over.

Pinned and glued!
A little tip for those that have not pinned a hinge before. Don't clip the tooth pick or dowel off cut it with a saw. Clipping will compress the wood and weaken the pin.
