The cabane has been completed, other than a good cleaning and buffing. That will come during paint prep.

Ok, well, I took that mess off. I found some aluminum tube the same size so I will wait for that. Finding the tube was a two day affair, two day's of not finding any. Then I sat down here and typed in 18mm aluminum tube, and Voila. And I be darned if the first place to pop up is a place I already buy from just never thought of them, Chiefaircraft  and only 8 bucks for a stick.

Robert,
If you do not have the equipment for welding the aluminum take it to a local radiator shop along with the copper mock-up you made and they should be able to fix you up.

Welding that aluminum can be tough.
Later!!

Wayne, your making my mouth water.
The exhaust is on hold, waiting for some pipe. And the cowl mount is on hold, waiting for some magnets. Still waiting for the cable supplies for the rudder hook-up. Oh yea, still waiting for the panel.
So I guess I'll work on the fuse panels next.

For lazy guys like me they make sheets with a sticky back and front. You cut the strip to the width you want and add it to the wing then add your tapes over top. Your looking at about $24 for a 1/3 size plane.

Later!!

Robert,
How do you prep the aluminum to accpet the Klass Kote paint. I see on their web site they say not to spray over aluminum. I have to make the false fuel tank for my Waco and the old one was aluminum. I have more on hand but was thinking of going with Ply.
Later!!

Anthony you can spray over aluminum using Klass Kote paint.  They tell you not to use it on galvanized aluminum.  I have used it over aluminum without any worries...
