Hey, I want to see some precise instructions on how to do this part!  You told me at one time but I just blew it off as poppycock.

No idea guy's. Usually when there is a problem posting pictures, you get that 505 error message. I'll try again.

I have been going over this thing double checking and verifying what has been done and what is left to do.  And if the cowl works out tomorrow it's ready for a final sanding and covering. And here I sit needing some fabric. It will have to wait for two weeks before I can order some. Going tomorrow to buy the youngest son a vehicle so I'll be a bit down on funds. But the bright side is it will only be two weeks.

And I forgot to mention, that 1/2" I had to add to the ailerons made a big difference in the amount of servo movement. As it was, I was at the outer hole with 120% usage in the radio just to get a max deflection of 1/2". And after the rebuild the usage dropped to 95% with linkage adjustment. I like to be between 90-100% on servo travel. I can only use the outer hole on the control horns
because of how I set it up. I used standard servo horns and only one hole cleard well. I did not want to use the heavy duty because of size.

Well the car shopping is a bust. I'm not paying those prices for a used vehicle. So we're going to wait a few month's and buy the wife a new vehicle and give the son hers.
So come monday I will order the covering, tape, and paints. Over the next week or until the covering comes in I can really get this thing perfect. Starting with repalcing the two lower fuse aluminum panels. Not as close a fit as I would really like. When they are right I can apply some cockpit coeming to the aluminum that will give a buffer around the cabanes. And I will, hopefully, get the fuse interior built and ready. Here's a shot of the cowl in place with the magnetic block's (depicted by black arrow)  epoxied in place and curing. These few thing's are all that is left, so it will be ready for the Polylite.

Looks real good Robert

I have never used magnets. Might be time to try them.

Anthony, thank's! You would be done by the time this Florida cracker made it through the snow, if I made it at all. You might woud have to stop sanding to come save me. LOL

Ken, thank's. And the magnets are a love/ hate relationship. Love how they hold, but hate having to remove a cowl.

Nice job as usual Robert.  Love the clean look the magnets give the cowl.  I know the holding power of those magnets, how is it to remove the cowl without damaging it?  Did you have to add any reinforcment strips to the inside of the cowl?

Thank's Vincent, it does make for a much cleaner cowl. To remove it just pull straight outward, some harder than others. On the cowl where I epoxy the block, I sand it down to some of the fiber. Then I epoxy the block in. Fiberglass Specialties uses West Systems epoxy so that is what I use. For now it has the four contact points, each having a magnet on each side, the cowl and the fuse. I am going to add two more, with a rotation pin, outward at the engine mount ply. This cowl is real long so it needs the added support up there.

Last cowl block's are installed, 1st pic. Second pic shows the three contact points per half. Black arrows rearward blocks and the red arrow is the forward block, it will also have a rotation pin just for good measure.
