Hey, I just saw online that the rc guys pitts is an Andy Sheber pitts in the form of an ARF. How about that! I have one still in the box, slidding canopy, and a g38 for power. But I think it's apples to oranges to yours ace.

Well open it up and lets see how much defference there is. I actually considered getting one because they are suppose to be the same as mine. But I like to build, so. Would be interesting to see none the less.

Well maybe I haven't totally stoped for the day. Went ahead and added the balsa saddle filler. And the stab base.

I can't figure out how to send a pic. on this phone. There are no gussets in the fuse. and light ply for bulkheads. It looks good for a store built arf. It's weight is listed at 12 to 14lbs. That's a big difference in weight.

Guys I have a Great Planes Pitts that I need a canopy for. I wonder if the canopy for the model in this thread would work?

Does everyone have their canopy?
RC Guys has a sliding canopy for their pitts
Find it in the accessories section.
I have one it looks like it's going to be a nice addition.
Just a headsup for anyone interested.

Just a tad more done. Got the top front fuse hardwood in. The tapered stab second half in, although not completely sanded, that will come when the stab is built. And added a doubler to the front and rear formers of the cockpit, a little more meat for the covering. Got to give this a couple hours to dry and then turn her over and sand that wing saddle. At the same time I will clean up everything else. Then I like to put in the electronics to get a feel for where and how everything is going to be placed. That also means actually mounting the engine, I always get excited about that.

Ok guy's got a question for ya's. In the photo below, you can see where from the back of the cockpit to the cowl is sheeted. Which do you all think is the best way to go, aluminum or fiberglass?

I used fiberglass sheets from Flite Skin.
If I had a do over at this point, aluminum.
Mcmaster car has aluminum sheets that are very very thin. It's listed under Shim Stock.

Thank's Wayne I'll check them/it out. Have the fin/rudder lamination laminated. I will give it an hour of drying to retain some shape then remove it and add glue.

No problem, the thinnest they have is .005 and that comes in 12x24. Dents and creases very easy but I believe once glued down with contact cement it would ok.
