New to the hobby, looking at the Mato Sherman for 1st tank.  Cannot find it for sale in US.  Heard that a "second gen" may come out with a 2.4 radio.  Anyone have some news about this?  Will it be restocked?

Status: offline 		Jumbo123     your hearing rumours but by and large the entire industry will move to 2.4 ghz if for the only reason is the FM band tanks will no longer sell eventually. You can readily get the Mato Sherman just by looking around a bit.

Status: offline 		The radio in the picture clearly has a crystal in it????? Mato was developing 2.4 ghz, but I thought it was going in their metal tanks with some other nice features as well. Maybe they decided to throw it in the Shermans as well. Couldn't hurt.

Status: offline 		funny enough Frank I saw that just after reading this thread. Does seem strange that it clearly shows the older radio but ho hum! Dan have you any word on the new features on these mato electronics?

Not a lot really. I have no idea where they are at with it either, Some good questions were being asked though, so if it does see the light of day I am hopeful it will be something we don't have to rip out and throw away.

Status: offline 		Well I just asked the question and should get an answer sometime in the near future. Seeing as how the Tank is coming from Forgebear maybe he worked out some specials, it is amazing what that guy has.

The 2.4 ghz Radio is CONFIRMED. A small batch of them were made and Mato sold out  ( Bet Forgebear got them all )
there are more production runs slated and 

Question is - Is this the long awaited RX22 system  from HL????

I think if Heng Long had a new radio they would put in their tanks. Both the Sherman and now the Leo have been announced and I don't see 2.4 ghz anywhere. Mato never used the RX18 in these Shermans and had their own electronics package. I am very interested to hear more about this Mato package as I was under the impression they were buildng an IR battling set up, and I don't see that mentioned either?.
