I'm pretty sure I know what my next tank purchase will be. Now if HL gets us a Challenger and M1 I'll be in my glory.

I'm still holding for a Centurion or Merkava. Of course an M-47 or early 48 would also be nice.

The Challenger is coming I have a date but it is too early to even think it will be on time.          leopard will be out February or March.   Now that tank I will have skids of ordered way before it is released.

I guess it is too early to know if any upgrade motor/gearbox options will fit it?

Wow the prospect of finally having a challenger 2 (or 1) in 1:16 makes me very very excited. I'm going to have to get one and convert with the full extra armor modules and skirts added.

This tank has lots of room in it, more so than the WWII stuff. It is safe to say upgraded motors and gearboxes will be available for this baby.  I can't wait to get one and throw some dirt on it. Pretty soon all us Tankjers are going to be spoiled lol

the leopards will be out around march. there is very little work left on them so I can't see this being delayed by a huge margin of months, possibly weeks but not months.

See, that is something I don´t get.

Why is it, that all the time, they build tanks in aktual mode?

If you want to have an older version, you have to degrade it.

I think, it would be easier to create an older Version, like the Leopard 2 A4, and create upgrade sets.

But that´s just my opinion.

Greetings from Germany

Birger

Even I agree... I guess I need one too. But a Challenger? That one is a MUST! Especially if it's a Chally II, that one I like the best out of all the modern tanks.

Whew! Glad I didn't give in on that Chinese boat of a tank.

I wouldn't have much room left! Keep us informed on the Challenger!

I wish they would release a T-34/85, especially now that the old WSN ones are so hard to find...

The T34 is coming sometime after the Challenger. I am just waiting on a couple peeps in the know to get back to me with some kind of expected production.

I'm glad they someone is making more modern tanks.

The WII era is getting stale.

Besides....there is just as many nice looking modern tanks.

I would like to see a Bradley's and BMP's so we can also have light armored vehicles. (pzIII Replacements)

But my most wanted is the T-72 followed by the T-90

Heng Long are doing a T-34, unfortunately it is the 85mm model and not a 76 which I would prefer. There is no definitive date set for any of these tanks. The T-34 is still undergoing making up the moulds and for the Challenger 2 I would expect a mid to late 2014 release.

Heng Long don't actually release date specifics to the vendors, until they are very close to it and even then the tanks can be delayed, a year in case of the Sherman.

The Leopard will most likely be out nearer Autumn. Unless a complete gear box re-design was required I would guess the Leopard will use the same gearbox pattern as the ZTZ-99. As in long shaft. The tank itself is quite high at the rear so most likely high cans.

I've started to regularly update the news site and am currently waiting for information on the Challenger 2.

http://www.panzer-command.co.uk/news.html

Forgot to mention, I've already tried the IFV route, one issue with BMP's is the turret size but I am working on seeing if a 1/16 Bradley or Warrior is possible. With Heng Long releasing the modern tanks it may be possible to help this along now.

Hey... if they can RC a 1/72 tank, then the size of the turret should not be an issue. I'm all over a BMP, just imagine the smoker out the side of the vehicle!

Nice Site. Informative.

I will caution everyone with the release of tanks. "Very soon" in Chinese can mean anything from 1 month to two years

Still it is very nice to see them interested.
