Well my lasr rc car was a rustler vxl and it was a blast. Shot myself in the foot and sold it all for 110 bucks... anywho i just bought a dx2.0 for 70, i think i got a decent deal. Back on topic ill be looking to buy a frame and such these next few months, im looking for a vxl type setup. Was wondering if it would be better to just get the ecs and motor of the vxl or something similar. Also a decent steering servo. Im looking for more of a rwd over a awd if someone can convince me otherwise.

No I dont have a rustler anymore, how much are you wanting to spend on electronics? There are definitely better electronics than the vxl systems although i never had any problems with mine.

For 700 on a rustler you could build a rocket if you wanted lol...look at castle creations and tekin...those are probably the top 2 brands.

if you want on-road do this http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_11293602/tm.htm

Offroad
for $700 you can get a pretty decent 1/8th scale buggy if you want offroad with the lipo batteries and charger. The Ofna LX2e I heard only good things about.
You could also pick up a used truggy roller for $100 or so off ebay, and convert it to electric that would smoke a rustler in handling any day.
Think I spent around $450-500 on my truggy total.

I'm looking more often also wrote I truck ah, based on the VXL frame uh I love the VXL I had I didn't mind it being rear wheel drive the truck was very solid I never had any problems with too many things break unless I just absolutely smashed into something on accidentand I mean I like to say I'm not trying to be the best in the world but uh I would like to go in excess of with the VXL did I have I'm estimating the VXL ray and somewhere around 7075 mile an hour. The only reason I'm guessing this is because then my brother but that on the road 1 day and say sit down with a truck and take it all away from the truck we were in a little boy oh to pick up.also excuse me if some words don't seem correct I'm using the voice thing on my phone and I have a very country accent so it's finding it hard to understand what I'm saying lol.

http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXCJDX&P=ML there haven't heard anything bad about that (actually only heard praise from owners)
someone that owns one might chip in on batteries though as I don't know the battery trays dimensions.

thats the roller im looking to get, now how to tell what motor to get. also i posted earlier that i bought a DX2.0 Spektrum from my buddy, this is all compatible? the motor i was looking to get might be from castle.

this is my radio just in case.

not sure what to do about the steering servo, dont know what to look for honestly...

as of right now without wheels and body i should be around the 400 mark.

If you have so much to spend why would you want a rustler?

Just get any servo not like a rustler is a heavy thing that requires a ton of torque to move.

Not that i have a bunch of money, just loved how fast the rustler was. Only other thing i had was a few nitro cars. Always needed to be worked on before running. Not worth it to me less mess also. Whats wrong with a rustler?

If you REALLY REALLY want a rustler which is how it sounds nothing.
Just get the rustler as I doubt anything else would make you happy from how it sounds. Everything that was suggested there was a fault in, and you keep bringing up a rustler.

Personally I'd get a pede 4X4 roller and do this http://www.ultimatetraxxas.com/projects/shape-shifter/ look at shape 2 he made it into a 4wd rustler. which would out handle, and potentially be faster than a 2wd rustler.
