Would there be a interest in these tanks in a kit ? Meaning you have to assimble & paint it. If so sound off or P/M and let me know.

The first thing I do with a HL is tear it apart, so yeah, kit form would be awesome. Especially broken down to a shell, since most stock parts are tossed anyway.

Me too.

I did mention this on another thread.

This option would be my preference, i.e. Hull, Wheels/Sprokets, Tracks, Turret, Traverse & Gun Elevation, no; Motors, Gearboxes, Electronics or Radio..

If they came as a kit? Not sure? Maybe as a rolling model? "Rolling" meaning they wouldn't have any electronics, just the TBU/Drive gearboxes, turret elevation/rotation gearboxes, and recoil gearbox. Like ausf said, the first thing I do is take out the Heng Long electronics and disassemble the tank to rebuild it the way I want it and install Tamiya electronics. But with what Clark is doing I will be moving to them for the electronics.

Yes:
Both ways from scratch or no electronics.
Maybe, maybe not motors and drive.

I would say yes to kits that must be assembled.

I don't want the electronics and there is a better solution to those gearboxes and we have to prep them anyway with bearings and better suspension parts so, heck yes.

I wish they could clarify the different versions and what EXACTLY they come with...Some tanks look like they come with metal wheels/w rubber tires, while others don't...and what is the difference between the "Pro" series and the "HC" series?

Is the Tiger the only HC or are there any others with this feature?

I'd love to see these sold ala-carte.  It'd be nice to buy the lower hull, running gear, tracks, electronics, upper hull, turret, etc separately...or to have that option.  I think it would make it easier to customize the tanks.  Example:  I like the Taigen Tiger I, but I'd like a mid-production version.  They have the parts between the late and early-production models...just not combined as a single tank.  So, it would be nice to buy those pieces ala carte and create my own kit.

Asiatam and rctank.de allow some of that with some of the mods that they have on their website.  Would be nice to have a US dealer that does the same thing.

BTW...the Taigen website says that some of their tanks - like the PzIV come with an HC bottom (or pop-open).  I'd like to see a picture of how that is done since it doesn't have one of the metal hulls.

I agree...I would also like an EXACT upgrade (metal wheels/or not, rubber tires/or not, metal hull/or not, etc.)list for each Taigen tank as the cookie-cutter discriptions are a bit vague....

guys I have both the HC and Pro versions here in stock, they already are sold in kits and you can buy spare parts.
Taigen tanks are the same as  Asiatam product but  rebranded.
The plastic is a bit different from what Asiatam used but everything else is the exact same right down to the red wire that gets grounded for the IR to work. Why they didn't use a black wire is beyond me and everyone else that knows Asiatam knows what I am talking about.

Anybody that thinks this is a bad thing has never owned or seen Asiatam product.

Baron Fel is getting information on who would be interested in buying these kits from him. Then you come in and say "hey you can buy from me instead", really low of you FreakyDude. You should instead start your own thread about what you sell.

I don't think Freaky is implying that people should buy from him instead. I believe he is just telling people what he has his hands on and can verify the difference between the two (HC and Pro) and that parts are available also. Freaky isn't that type of vendor.

Cheers,
Wade

I read it as backing up his information with hard facts (something a LOT of people lack to do on the internet). He did that because he ADDED information to the very quick/short question of the OP.

In this case he carries both of them in his store = he has first hand experience with them + they are good enough to meet his high standards to carry/sell them.

In lament term, he isn't talking out of his ass, like most people do on the 'internet'.

In no way do i see him saying "hey you can buy from me instead" like you so gracefully stated.

I can personally vouch for Freaky/Curtis and his integrity as a seller.

You owe me an apology, to question my integrity when you have no idea who I am or what I am about is not fair in any sense of the word.
Because you construe things that are not said in a post I make does not give you the right to question a simple post based on fact. The Taigen branded product is originally known as Asiatam stuff, as it is the same product.
As for trying to muscle in on any business Baron has I would think he is a big boy and will look after his own stuff.
BUT had you been on the forum and as knowledgeable about me as you say you are then read the first post on a Taigen thread I made a full 2 weeks before before Baron started this thread
http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_11318354/anchors_11318652/mpage_1/key_/anchor/tm.htm#11318652
I only recently had a chance to take the tanks I have apart to confirm my suspicion, once I had the info I posted my opinion on the question.

You can post your apology in this thread right below my posting here.

I have the Asiatam PzIII lower hull kit and several of their detail parts.  I like their stuff a lot.  So, if Taigen is comparable, then I'm all for it.

Without jumping into the mud-fest, I'm glad to see options opening CONUS for buying these kits and parts.  If the vendors can do what DirtyBird suggested and list the exact upgrades (and post pictures), that would be awesome as we'll be able to see really clearly what we're getting.  I still like the ala carte idea.  I haven't used either vendor yet...but looks like I'll have some options to consider.  Still deciding between a PzIV or a Panther for the next one.  Any word on Taigen making a metal hull for either...especially the Panther with the torsion bars?

I too would like the kits. Like getting an Asiatan lower with metal tracks, installing 3 to 1 gear box. I will do the rest.

Be well,
David

Well, you guy can stop PM'ing me, holy crap! lol! Looks like I will have my hands on a Tiger I kit late next month. Taigen dosent understand why we want a kit of these tanks but seem to be all for it. Plus we are having a meeting with the design team and owners of Taigen on things that need to change to make these tanks better. I hope that they will change the sound card, we will see!

Sounds good.  Love the idea of a kit.  Will you be selling them that way?

Immediate changes or new items:
Metal lower hull with torsion springs for Panther...would work with the metal swing arms and road wheels that Asiatam already has.
Sound card for each type...or programmable for each type
Correct the lower hulls on the M26 and the M41A3....middle road wheels don't have struts  (photos available)
Metal main gun tubes for American tanks (properly scaled)...per Welshdragon they have it for the PzIV, PzV and Tiger.

Just some ideas.
