What are the best clubs in Arizona or Florida for Snowbird members? Looking for clubs with nice fields that welcome snowbird members without a lot of hassle. I have researched some clubs via AMA website and then through club websites, dues are not the problem, but some clubs indicate they require an interview, flight check, etc. (sound like the FAA). Retired after working for 42 years and not interested in doing any more interviews, been flying RC for 25 years, and an AMA club president for 9. I fly everything from indoor micros to 1/4 scale gas and looking for a club to join during the midwest winters. Any help apprecaited.

When I was in El Centro, CA we did stuff back & forth.
Great bunch of guys, nice paved runway.

Good Luck,

Looking at Phoenix area, have friends there but they are not into RC so they don't have suggestions on clubs.

Arizona Model Aviators in the far east valley, Sun Valley Fliers in the north-central area, and Arizona Radio Control Society if you're way out on the west side. I think there are a couple more clubs on the south-east and south-central sides of town too but I'm not familiar with them. If you're in the general Phoenix area my recommendation would be for the Sun Valley Fliers.
