Hey guys,

Well I picked this up a few days ago. I traded a Supercat 49" boat for it.

I have been into large scale for years but this is my first FG so I do have some questions. I would like to know about the shock springs. The truck is super stiff and I have real about changing the oil which I will do but I want to know why the springs seem to be short? Is this just the way they are?

I dragged the rigs outside yesterday for some pix. So my RR XB is also in some of the pix. That's another project that is going on this winter.

What I have been up today while my little guy is down for his nap. Pulled the wheels off and disassembled the rims. Going to do some polishing.

Was gonna say if you take away some of the preload they would be softer,

But seeing the pic with the wheels off the springs look way too short,

Don't look to be stock length springs at all.

Those are definitely not the stock springs or shocks. Even stock mine are damn stiff since the truck weighs so much. That thing is in amazing shape, mine is such a beater, beautiful pics as always wicked.

Those are Crazy Nut Racing Rims I believe. Insanely rare and much weigh a lot too. Be careful with them.

What size engine is that?

I love mine more than my Baja. Has one off A-arms but it needs a new engine.

Hey well I am looking for springs so if you know were I can get them lmk. I looked on DDM and LS and all they seem to have are TC springs.

Thanks for letting me know what the wheels are. When I saw the truck I new I wanted it but I am not familiar with FG and its aftermarket at all.

Here are some pix I took of the wheels and tires. Top one is off the XB, the rest are the MT. And well all I have to say is HS!!

Sometimes you have to compare the 2 because the numbers change for parts.

Very nice car you got there, but i can't say those heavy wheels are making the car handle better. This has to do with unsprung weight and the time the suspension uses travelling up and down, with lighter wheels the suspension will work much better.

Hey pal thanks for the links.

Do you think those will be good for all the weight I have? I guess there is 8 shocks.

Well I did it.

Ordered the 7075 hollow gear plate, front knuckles, C hubs, rear carriers, and the bearings to go with. Then ordered the plastic mounted MT wheels and tires, volt watch's for both rigs, new fuel tank, lighter shock springs, and the chocolate bar from DDM for the FG. O and yesterday I ordered the DT1 air filter with the green outerwear's from TGN also for the XB.

I'm now RC broke.

That's a nice looking rig. Who ever had it before took care or it and spent a nice chunk of change on it. Great find.

Well I don't know who the original owner was. I have done some digging and my buddy had got it off a guy who bought it at a hobby store were it was on consignment. So including me thats 4 owners.

Somebody sunk allot of coin into it.

So I did a little polishing on one rim and shined up the tires.

Not sure what to tell you. I have a Canon Rebel XT. Been doing the SLR thing now for about 7 years.

Even though none of these were shot with a photo lens, they are a great investment.

Dood thank you so much. I got my order from ddm today that had 4 sets of fg mt springs in it and once I saw them I new that they were bigger that what was on the truck now. I have been looking all day at shocks trying to find out what they were. After looking at pix you are exactly right.

Thanks again. You saved me allot of time.

I still want to grab a 990 for it.
