From my experience a Futaba radio will not drive a Hitec digital servo to full throw where you have your endpoints set on the servo. It sounds like that is your problem, you may have to program your servo endpoints a little farther than you want to get the expected throw. To test this plug your programmer into the receiver on the channel you are using, channel 2 for the elev. Now use the "Measure Pulse" function of the programmer to check the pulse the receiver is suppling to the servo. Move your elevator stick and make note of the numbers shown at full up, full down and center. The center should be 1500us, the left 900us, and right 2100us. Never tried this on a 9Z but on the 9C and 8U the closest you can get is approx. 965 on the left and 2035 on the right, which will never allow you to get to the endpoint you programmed on the servo. I always use the subtrim function to set the centers to 1500 on the radio. Also if your using the ailavator function you will want to check that channel also. Mark
