Have a question and any input from experience would be appreciated:
My batteries (two of them) started acting-up. If you saw Graphite videos - on lunch I have a voltage drop (and transmitter buzzer goes off) which becomes normal once battery warms-up under load in the air.
After last flight day I plugged the batteries to balance and one showed 4.20/3.98/3.96 V in cells. I rejected this battery and ordered a replacement.
I useBlue LiPo 3S 2650mAh from Hobby Partz. Bought it 8 months ago and did not use them that much. Always took care of them, never over discharged. How can battery go bad that fast? I had about 20-30 flights on it.

Also when I power-up the first time on the battery - motor needs to spin for a few seconds before it gets a full power. I wonder if it is a battery or an ESC?
Thanks for your input!
Mark

Mark, the issue could either be related to a defective ESC or simply is incompatible with the specific motor you are using. I ran into a similar problem where a motor refused to work properly with an specific ESC, no matter what configuration I did, it simply couldn't properly and promptly start the motor as it would be expected. This ESC is still working fine with other motors.

Thanks czorzella!
I was kinda leaning towards replacing ESC as well. It seems that motor timing is off and I do not have procedure on ESC setup as far as timing goes.

Hi guys!
You will not believe it (now I don't believe myself) - I used a brandless ESC that came with my Samurai from Hobby-Lobby. One I did not use at all and it made it into my Graphite.
It's 45A rated with no info on setups (except for brake). Works fine in Samurai with 2S battery and it's rated up-to 3S.

I ordered Exceed RC Proton/Volcano 40A OPTO Brushless Speed Controller ESC (no BEC) with programmer card.
Also ordered three Turnigy nano-tech 3000mah 3S 25~50C Lipo Pack - I know they last at least a couple of months.
Both packages should arrive shortly after Christmas. If there is an input on ESC and battery - I'd be glad to hear.
Funny rating on battery - 25-50C ??? Is it 25 or 50 ?
Cheers,
Mark.

When the battery is installed laying flat, it can provide 25C. If it is installed with the output wire side down, the impedence is reduced and it can provide 50C.

Jeez, everyone knows that, right... Oh yeah, I think we have to make sure the output wire isn't kinked either....

...... wonder what 25-50C means in Chinese?

This is my latest electronics setup. While testing the motor it felt like it got much more power.

in regards to 25-50C rating batteries,I wonder if it is a sales gimmick? I have a few el cheapo lipos with 25-50C rating (1000mAH) and there is no way that I would try to extract 50A out of them.

Yeah, funny stuff as they did not publish in China specs on the batteries or they can't read and just guessing the discharge ratings.
This is the actual battery I received.
