I just bought this car from someone on facebook for fairly cheap.  He says it's a duratrax baja buggy but I can't seem to find anything similar to it online and am hoping someone can tell me which model it is so I can buy parts for it.  Thank you.

I'm sure someone will be able to identify it on sight, but usually there will be some makers mark on it, usually on the plastic pieces. Is anything on the air filter cover, battery box cover, front bumper or servos? What kind on engine is in it?

I don't have it in front of me right now but the air cleaner says "Super Air Cleaner" O.S.   The engine is a .18 O.S. CV-R

Judging by the chassis and shock towers, looks like a Duratrax Maximum ST pro.

I think you may be right.  It's a different engine than is listed on their site so it probably ws switched out in the past but the rest looks to be similar.

that it is...
I just traded away one, only mine had purple alloy instead of blue.
Ive seen a few rollers on ebay. If the one you have runs, then buying a $50 roller is probly the easiest way to insure you have spare parts.

I just may do that.  $50 is more than I paid for it with TX, fuel and glow plug ignitor though.  Haha.  Just needs a body.  Seems to run decent and I'm just planning on bashing it around the house.  It's been about 15 years since I've had a nitro RC car and have been looking for one decently priced to mess around with and came across this so thought, "Why not?"

If yours was purple, it was the MT pro version. The non-pro versions of the ST and MT had silver aluminum.

Already had my first idiot moment.  A little background first: The other night I wanted to see if it ran so since it didn't come with a battery, I rigged one up by twisting the wires of a 6v battery tray that I had to the wires of the receiver's switch.  Well all I was going to do was get it started and maybe putt around a little.  I got it started and slowly ran it across the driveway.  The battery came loose.  When that happened, the servo went to WOT.  The car then shot off into a boulder at the edge of our yard.  Thankfully that stopped it before it went into the neighbors house.  Unfortunately, I think the engine shifted in it's mount a little.  Not noticing this, I went to run it today and after only about 50 ft it quit moving.  I thought WTH.  Well once I walked up to it, I saw this:

Looks like i'm going to be installing a new gear or two. LOL  I was already planning on tearing it all apart and cleaning it up and replacing any weak parts in the drivetrain so I guess now's as good a time as any.

Do yourself a favor and put a throtle return spring on there. It'll stop those runaways.
