Does anyone know of any source to purchase Modelspan material in the USA?

I would like to test out some of the thin material.

Status: offline 		Realistically I doubt you'll find a US source. 'Modelspan' is UK 'domestic' modelling tissue-available (or used to be) in lightweight and heavyweight, and in a limited range of colours-yellow, red, blue, black and orange (that's its also in white goes without saying!). In the US it would be competing with Silkspan, Peck polymer/domestic and Japanese tissue. I doubt anyone would see the point in importing it into the US.

Mike Woodhouse currently lists it in white only, in 51cm x 76cm sheets (that's 20"x30" to the unmetricated!) lightweight (12gsm) and heavyweight (21gsm) for 0.65p and 1.00 pound sterling respectively per sheet.

Status: offline 		You are correct with the ' used to be ' Modelspan in lightweight and heavyweight has not been available
for many years. Was only available in white as far as I can remember, it was a sort of cross weave rag tissue
and it tended to take up too much dope compared to modern Japanese tissue like Esaki.
I use some of my shrinking stash to cover tricky compound curves like wing tips. Was very prone to
puncturing so open structures became a patchwork in no time.
Now I use Esaki over Mylar, lightweight and almost puncture proof. Note that Mike Woodhouse suggests
Lite-Flite as best for over Mylar but have not tried it yet but certainly will.
Sure that suitable or better alternatives are available in the USA.
When I lived for a few years in the USA in the late 80's the only must have I couldn't find was
Swan Morton scalpels, thought I might have made my fortune touting round model shops lol.
