Well, there are many batteries that would work. If you want what would be 'best', you could spend more than the car costs on a pair of batteries and a charger.

The battery bay length is 140mm, and it's designed to take pairs of 2S batts. Personally, I would take a dremel to any parts that need to be ground in order to fit a 6S Turnigy Nanotech 5000mAh 65c pack. As for chargers, how much you want to spend, how good do you want it to be? If you are going to use pair of batteries then it would be a good idea to get a dual charger.

If you don't feel you want to run 6S straight away, these would be a decent and fairly cheap choice in pairs (4S). http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__17273__Turnigy_nano_tech_5300mah_2S2P_30_60C_Hardcase_Lipo_Pack_ROAR_APPROVED_.html (if you just sit and look at this page for a short while, a discount offer pops up bottom right).

Is there a way to run that battery without soldering? Straight to Deans?

Also, Foxy, what's the deal with hardcase vs. nonhardcase?

I think I actually want to try 5s at some poing, as most seem to say 6s is too much.. Fxxxing stupid I guess that I spend €120 for two 3s batteries, if running them is that bad.. All the brushless talk though, I gotta' see 60mph....

You can buy ready made 3.5mm banana/bullet to deans, for sure.

Hardcase are required for sanctioned racing, and they also prevent the packs from swelling so much (though its just the physical restriction, the internal battery damage that causes the swelling is still there). I run mostly soft packs.

I don't think you wasted your money on 6S batteries, and its not as insane as people say. But you might have some issues getting them in there.

well hard cases do a little more than that like the damage a battery would get when if it hits something is instead absorbed by the case, and not the battery. I've dropped a soft case battery 2 feet before when I fumbled it while putting it in a RC and the thing got a very bad dent in the cell itself. I've fumbled hard cases and no damage as the casing absorbs it.

I use 2 zippy flight max 5400mah 2s 50C hardcase lipo batteries, fit perfectly and you can use the wiring the mt4 comes with.

herrsavage read this, it will teach you about how to program the esc and set up the lvc to work with a 5s pack should you ever use them

6s is very very powerful, but f you got thin center diff oil it will feel alot more controlled.

I put 30k oil in my mt4 diff and it feels way more controllable than the 100k i used. The 100k really made the truck come alive but when I am limited in space I need that extra control

I think I have some old 30,000 I bought like five years ago, but I also bought some 50,000 today. Maybe that in the middle? Or you reckon just run it as is first?

I also bought this Ansmann High Speed Differential Grease stuff... I'd return it if you reckon it's not worth it..

'Effin' charger hasn't shown up yet....

How does meshing work on these things? There is no play between my pinion and SG... Should it have some wiggle room like with a nitro?

I have no idea about the gear mesh on the mt4,

But it should say something in the manual,

If not, I think it would be safe to say that there has to be some backlash,

I set the mesh on my savage flux and flux xs with 1 strip of paper to get the perfect backlash,

These both run steel gears,

but I also set the mesh just the same way on my lst brushless which has a plastic spur.

There should be some play between the pinion and spur like a nitro. It comes with plastic spur (standard electric stuff) so if the gap is too big you will wear out the spur quick. You can use rc8 spur gears if you want to upgrade to steel. I have a rc8t 50t steel spur and a robinson racing 12t mod 1 pinion.

As for center diff grease, I'm no expert but I say you should run it how it is to see how you like it. Then you can decide if you want more control or power direct power.
