I have one of the original 14 Channel receivers that came with the 2.4 upgrade for my 14MZH. I haven't used the receiver. I was reminded while at my LHS that there were some issues with this particular receiver series.

My question is, can it send it in for a checkup? And would that ensure that it was ok to use? It's going in a pretty expensive plane and I'd like to have a reliable receiver.

You can certainly send it in for a checkup. Likely, the tuning and operation will be found to be OK.

The only issues with the first generation of Futaba 14-channel FASST receivers was that they tended to quit working if you left them out in the hot sunlight in the U.S. Southwest under a clear canopy and they got over 160-degrees F. That is also the limit temperature for almost all of the other equipment in the model, too. Very few actual difficulties were reported, so it's a non-starter.

Bax, thank you. I may put the receiver in a mule for a bit to see how every thing works out.
