Is it my imagination or has the used market dried up for fixed wing and rotary wing airframes. By this I mean it appears nothing is moving like it did several years ago.

My experience has not been very good selling my used planes. Buyers want them for nothing. But if you happen to have something they want, its different.

Point well made and I agree totally. I have a mixture of scale and aerobatic airframes for sale and still no takers.

Shipping is too costly for complete airframes. Used to be you could ship a large crate or box at a reasoable cost, but no more.

Good point. I seldom even look at an ad w/o pics. just skim on to the next one.

There lies the issue I have had with this site posting ads. The process itself becomes convoluted to a point where I get help but they tell me that it works fine for them. I am a techie and if I can't figure it out, I feel sorry for other that aren't as savvy. A picture is always worth the words, but if the system does not work as designed, nothing I can do about that one.

The very first non-completed airframe my dad started on went unfinished. I sold it to a guy in Arizona. This was prior to my entry back into the hobby after a 22 year low. Somebody told me to crate it and ship via greyhound. Well, lets make a long story short - the crate cost me over $120 in materials, I only charged the buyer $75 because I underestimated costs, When I took it up to greyhound station, I only insured it for $100. Don't ask me why I did that. Three weeks later, greyhound lost the crate, I sent the guys money back to him for the plane, but he told me to keep the shipping costs. Greyhound did pay the $100 but I learned an expensive lesson.
