I mostly race, and i'm looking for a cheap way into 1/8 buggies and not break every 5 laps. I will do some bashing (not much). Is this the buggy for me?

You should have put a comma between the words "outlaw" and "thoughts" in your title. Sorry, I know I have a lame sense of humor.

I know nothing of the Outlaw although after quickly checking it out it does look like a pretty neat beginners buggy. There's a pretty detailed review right here on RCU.

hmm its arms and stuff look a tad thin...
kinda looks like they just stretched a 1/0th(or even under).
its KV is kinda high so its gearing wil probably be minimal
also don't trust RCU reviews I seen buggies that didn't even make it around a track once in one piece that they rated very durable. RCU reviewers mace RCCA's look unbiased towards traxxas

Hopefully, Santa is bringing me an Outlaw. This information does make me scared the buggy will not fit my tastes and break every lap. And, now, i get the title better. I'll fix that, lol.

Well, the thing looks pretty dang sweet. But I agree with Syco Venom, the arms do looks thin. It really looks like a 1/8 scale buggy built from 1.10 scale parts. The kv is a little high, but other than that it looks like a good deal. Though the first thing I would do, is put some larger and WAY more agressive tires on it. Looks like it's built to race. I looked at getting one a few months back, but I didn't have the dough.

My thoughts;

Although the arms on it look small, they are as beefy and strong as the ones on my slash. I read the problem about shearing pins, but drilling a hole bigger than the original one allows me to fit a Revo pin. After this, it can be a great car. Did some speed runs on a 2S 5000 mah 50c pack, and it was great. It looks as if i will be able to keep up with the buggies with 550 novaks and things like that. The electronics, like esc and motor, are made by XTM. Some of the buggy is made by XTM.
