Hey guys.  I'm thinking about ordering the Engine Stop Switch for my Savage from Tower.  What else do I need to order along with this?  I think I have to remove the engine to install it, but do I need to remove the fly wheel from the engine too?  If  do, should I order a fly wheel wrench also?  If so, which one?  Thanks in advance.

You won't have to remove anything,

It should just bolt onto your chassis.

No kidding?  I could have sworn that I read somewhere here that you had to remove the engine and the fly wheel to install the Engine Stop.  I'm glad I asked before I ordered a tool I dont need.  Or do I?  Why would someone need to remove the fly wheel?  For a detailed tear down and cleaning of the engine maybe?

the switch doesn't need anything removed to install. It basically only has a piece that pushes the flywheel when pushed to stop the RC. Nothing gets attached to the engine though its all mounted to the unused screw holes by the fuel tank.

If you have a tank guard like the one integy makes installed that would get in the way, and the guard would require some modification to fit with it.

tib personally I prefer not to burn my hands or carry a set of gloves around which is why I installed mine. I use a piece of scrap wood to stop my other nitros by pressing the flywheel as their flywheels are more exposed

I Just fold or pinch the stinger to stop my engine

is that good or bad?

I prefer that to pinching the fuel line

I use the back end of my tuning screw driver to stop the flywheel

not really, also its right next to the gas tank so if it gets hit the gas tank will probably be smashed. Also not counting running a body on the truck

Thanks for the tips.  I ordered the Engine Stop the other day from Tower and hopefully it will be here after the 1st of the year.  I aslo just noticed that the Savage SE http://www.hpiracing.com/kitinfo/106364/ has one of these installed from the factory.
