Searched and couldn't find much anyone had to say about this place .
I came across a post about the H9 Ultrastick 120 and someone posted this companys site and their Drastiks.
www.texasrcplanes.com/index.html

It looks like their Drastik 120 is really close to the H9 untrastick and I did find some threads on it specifically telling about the planes  pluses and minuses and it looks like something I would get to have as a back-up/replacement to the H9 ultrastick.
If anyone has any experience with this folks good or bad please post.
I'm curious about their communication, customer service, and product support.
Shipping looks to be a bit high but these are big boxes.
I assume their planes are Chicom products but does anyone know who makes their arfs as some of their stock pics look like the same stock pics of another company selling similar giant scale planes?
Also does anyone have any recent experience with the Drastik planes ?
Thanks,
Brian

+1 waiting for feed back........also looking for a replacement for the H9 ultra stick 120 lite. Mine after 3 years still flys great, but some day you know the thumbs might fail me and i'll need a replacement.

I've had the old version and its been holding up OK but it won't last forever and although not that difficult to cut-out and build ; if this arf and company is good I'd rather go that way. Trying to find these H9 versions old or lite for a realistic price is tough.  They always quit making the good planes !

Well I dug around last night and found some info here and there.  Didn't find a lot on Texas RC Planes  but what I did find was that the owner seems to be friendly, honest, answers your questions and has good customer service and handles problems well .
Also it looks like most of their planes are CYModel arfs......at least the Drastik is

We got some samples of the Drastik and found the quality was not good enough to sell.  Very cheap stuff.  Not in any way comparable to Hangar 9, not even close.
We will not sell it.
Any of those other planes, we have many of them in stock, and more coming. We are out of Delaware.  We do not drop ship from China, but ship directly from our warehouse in the USA.
You can email us at sales@applehobby.com
We are very soon going to replace our website with a better one, thanks.

Now there's a sleazy hobby company. I would never deal with Apple Hobby after posting this sort of reply to a thread. Just sleazy self promotion. Realy bad taste.

You called them sleazy, I can think of some better names for them but would be kicked off of here.

I personaly know Robert at Texas RC Planes. Very honest. His planes are chinese ARF's. Just keep in mind the instructions are very poor for his kits but I think for the price of his planes the quality is good. I have seen better, I have seen worse. His shop is about 15 minutes away from my house. Youtube has some videos of his sticks. He is an honest man that will treat you right and help you in any way he can. I have no problem buying his planes.

Thanks for the input folks.  I believe the owner is a good man and I would have no reservations dealing with him. I also think the arfs are typical Chicom arfs and need their fair share of reinforcing  here and there like most do and probably come with the typical Chinacoat covering and less than stellar hardware.
It's a stretch to claim they are not good enough to sell. I think I would give one a try as opposed to cutting out a kit to build when the time comes.
Hey, I'm all for some shameless self-promotion as long as it's in the proper format. The above was a bit over the top in my book.

I always look at post like that with and pay little attention............I already look up and found the china MFG and done some checking......... the video I found on texas and this stick look like the quality of most........maybe not as good as H9 but H9 did not knock my socks....Most Arfs don't but I modify and add a lot to any Afr I have bought..........As for the parts package I replaced all the parts on the H9 so I would be impressed if i used a single nut or bolt from any package like this.....all the hardware I use I am use to and will not change what works.

I have bought several other planes other than the stick from him-I drove the 90 miles and he is a great guy-I had one issue on missing wing tube, I called him and had the part in three days on frt door by ups-the model was average quality with really no issues. I have purchased planes from other suppliers and the quality was poor. I know he will make things right; in case you have problems. I would trade with him without reservation

I too have purchased from Robert @ Texas RC Planes and have to say you will never find a nicer guy to deal with. I bet we talked for 45 minutes about planes, weather, ect. I would highly recommend him to anyone wanting a good deal and great customer service. He will bet anyone's price! As for most arfs from china, with a little bit additional work you can make them a sturdy and scale flyer. I will purchase from Robert again.

He also carries replacement parts for the models he sells. I got a cowl for an Me163 with no problems at all.

I also bought from Texas RC. The service is good and they are good people, but you really do get what you paid for as far as cheap ARFs. I would never buy another one.

I bought a 40(Explorer 40 I think.) trainer from Texas RC. Good plane for the money. Used most of the hardware. Put a GMS 75 on and flogged it unmercifully. I made a taildragger out of it.

+1 for Robert !! I bought a model from him a little while back and found him to be a very pleasant, and honest person, and I would deal with him again without question. Brian
