Get a copy of motocalc. You can get 30 days free trial.
In order to figure out what you need you need to know the weight, wing area, and your altitude.
Motocalc will figure out what you need in the size of motor but remember the first choice is likely very expensive. I usually just just take a note of the size and internal resistance and find a similar one at Hobbyking.
Also you can try RCHOTDEALS.com. They give a recommended aircraft weight for their motors.
Normally you need about 100W/lb for normal flying and considerably more for 3D.
I am guessing your Cardon weighs about 20 lb. For normal flying you need 2000w.With 100amp ESC you would need 20V. You would need at least a 5 cell battery. If you were to go to 10 cells you would cut the current requirement to 50 amps. Then chose a prop that causes the motor to draw 50 amps.
If you have specific questions PM me.

One of the guys in my club has this same plane on electric. Hacker A80, don't know what ESC. Originally on 10s - it was marginal. Could do loops but not big ones - performance was not good. Switched to 12s and it really nice now. I know just enough about electrics to be dangerous- I have a 12.5lb 78" Extreme Flight Extra on 10s- over 2000 watts. Don't know how many watts you'd want on this H9/Carden but I'd guess it would be in the 3500-4000 range.

The Hackers are more than $500- I have heard that some folks have had good luck with the Rimfire 65cc electric motor for about half the cost:
