Ok, I'm having some sort of mental breakdown. All I want to do is slave Aux3 to the Rudder. So, I inhibit Aux3 in "17 Device Select", and I goto "51 Prog Mix1", click Yes to hold the servos, set Rudd as master, and Aux3 as Slave. Not working.

Now, before I inhibited Aux3, the servo would move on the slider as it should. I've had no problem doing this with my 9303, so obviously I'm missing something simple or loosing my mind. Help a guy out

Are you trying to setup a dual rudder servo ? If so, instead of a mix, go into wing type (i think) and under rudder, set the desired aux channel to be the mate..

Hooker 53,

I've done mine the way Vettster describes.  Go to Device Select and INH AUX 3.  Doing this now frees up AUX 3 to mate to a MASTER.  Then in wing type mate AUX 3 to RUDD.  No MIX needed.

Don't select hold servos if you want to see them move.

have you given the mix a value? (100%)

Sorry to hijack the thread but im having trouble too.

Im trying to do a throttle to aux 3 mix for a smoke pump.
I'm turning it on/off via the mix switch. got that part working.
Going to use a sullivan smoke pump but using a servo for now to see the signal output by looking at the servo arm.

My problem is as i advance the throttle, the smoke servo (for now before i plug the it into the pump) moves for example from left to right but when the throttle reaches the centre, the servo starts moving back. i'm not gatting my full -100 to +100 servo travel.

I've tried max travels, servo reverse, match travels with throttle, etc.  No luck..

Any suggestions???

Thanks Mario..

If you are using a MIX in program 1... on the bottom left of the screen there is "offset" play around with that. I had the same situation with mixing my brakes for down elevator and that solved the problem.

I had the same set up with Throt to Aux 3 for smoke as well on my 9303 but that doesn't help you.  I have recently purchased a 12X as well and have not yet messed around with this particular scenario but I think Vettster is onto it with the offset.  I'll mess around with mine and see what I can come up with...  The monitor screen is a good one to use while trying to figure these things out...

MACMUZ,

OK, I had a few minutes to mess around with it a bit.  Here is what I came up with.  I think you have a negative "H" value set on your MIX 1 screen.  Here is what I did...

Under 12 TRVL ADJ set AUX 3 at -100 / +100

Under 17 Device Select "INH" AUX 3

Under PROG MIX 1, All Servos Hold, No.

Set THRO to AUX 3.

Directly under THRO to AUX 3 is settings for HIGH and LO for Positions 0 and 1.  On your TX lower THRO to minimum.  Then adjust the Position 1 LO to +75.  Then raise your THRO Stick to full throttle and set the Position 1 High to +125.  If you have a negative setpoint under the H setting your servo travel will stop at 50% and start heading backwards.  Leave the Pos. 0 at 0%.

While on this same screen, scroll over and highlight the "MIX" which is located on the bottom right of screen.  Push roller to change the MIX from 0 to 1.  This will now allow your MIX toggle to turn the MIX on and off.

Once you have done this, go to 75 MONITOR and observe the outputs of the THRO and AUX 3.  Increase the TX stick and observe the outputs on the monitor screen for THRO and AUX 3 increase.  Flip the MIX switch on your TX and observe that only the THRO output moves on the MONITOR screen.  The output for CH's will show on the MONITOR screen as being in the middle or 50% of the scale when they are turned off.  You can adjust the travels by changing the values that I listed above on the "H" and "L" on the MIX 1 screen.

I think this should work.  Good Luck.  Let us know !!!!

Bill

Bill.

I've just tried it.

With your suggested settings, the pump only comes on from around half throttle to full. nothing from half down to idle.
Tried playing around with the +75 value. Its strange because if you take it into the negatives, you can make the pump come on and increse the more you move the stick to idle.

I can get the pump going on at idle, then as i advance to mid stick, it slows and stops before the middle and then starts up again as i keep going up to full..

Totally confused now.

Mario..

Mario,

OK, so I think I may have it this time.  We'll see !!!

Go in and clear MIX 1.

Go to MIX4.  Select INH, Select "CURVE MIX", select "NO" for "ALL SERVOS HOLD"

Select THRO to AUX3

Access POS1 under THRO to AUX3

Below POS 1 click on SW Select

Click on"MIX" bottom right of screen

Go back to THRO to AUX screen.  You will see Point L, Point 1, and Point H.  Set the output at -75 on the L, +25 on the 1, and +100 on the H.

If I have it right this should be a good starting point.  You should be able to adjust the outputs between the L, 1, and H to get the desired output to the pump off of the output of the throttle stick output...

Let me know if we have it this time...

Bill

Bill.

First of all, thanks for your help.
Thats what I like about RCU, evryones willing to give a hand and help out.

Anyway, I've pulled the pin for the night, the reciever batteries are flat.
There on charge and i'll give it a go tomorow after work.

I'll get back to you on this.
Also looked at Sullivans website, there using Futaba ATV's as a guide. there starting at 41% to 100% for proportinal control.
they've got a setup PDF on there site that's more of a guide for a Futaba setup. Tried some of there ATV values but still no luck.

I'll give your setup guide a go tomorow.

Mario..

Hooker 53,

I've done mine the way Vettster describes.  Go to Device Select and INH AUX 3.  Doing this now frees up AUX 3 to mate to a MASTER.  Then in wing type mate AUX 3 to RUDD.  No MIX needed.

Bill

That is exactly the way to do it

Hey Bill.

It works.
My output values are -05 on the L, -25 on the 1, and -100 on the H.
Thats on Pos 1.
On Pos 0, all values are left at 0.

Thanks mate, really apreciated your help.
Now to find the right formula for smoke!

Mario..

Mario,

Glad to hear it worked...

I've been using 3 parts of diesel, 1 part transmission fluid for smoke.  Works pretty good.  Let me know if you come up with a great smoke fluid cocktail.

Cheers...

It's funny this has come up as i was trying to do the same last week. The way i got round it was moving the subtrim to it's maximum of 250 to move the 'centre' to the left hand side when viewed on the monitor as the pump would only start to work from 50% throttle stick.

It did take an hour or so to figure it out as going by JR's way of using a prog mix just didnt suit the pump i have.
