Best place or the best tracks? Also, what price range are you looking at?

Mitosal has Impacts. Another option for the KT is the metal Matorro KT tracks. They fit and I've seen no problems with them.

PanzerAce,
Here is a link to the Impact KT tracks on the Mitosal website: http://mitosal.com/KingTiger.html I have purchased several sets of the Impact tracks, including the late version of the KT tracks, always good quality and the locking system for the track pins works very well. You will want to factor in shipping as they are coming from overseas and they do weigh a couple of pounds.
Here is a link to the Tamiya tracks on the AAF website: http://shop.aaftankmuseum.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=84128 I haven't purchased any of these, but these should be of similar quality as they are Tamiya's own. I believe I read a review when they first came out that they were of comparable quality to the Impacts.

Hi,

Have tried different makes of KT metal tracks. The best is that from Mato; works well with Tamiya.

Ive got both the impact and the kenny kong king tiger tracks, Id definatly got with the impacts as you dont have to worry about the pins comming loose.

You cannot go wrong with either IMPACT or Kenny Kong tracks. Those are the best that I know of.

IMPACT are pretty much bullet proof with the pins secured for immediate operation while the KK tracks will need the pins secured with a locktite or super glue.

My favorites are KK because they are all over eBay and have been around since the beginning with Patrick handling the emails, they both are VERY friendly and will even work with you outside of eBay.

Good luck and let us know what you decided!

Kenny's track pins were redesigned some time ago.  Some of my recent sets (Elefant, T-55 and Pershing) had pins that self lock.  They haven't worked out yet.

Hey Jeff! Good morning! Hope you and yours had a great Christmas!

I know as I have both styles. BUT, IMPACT's design is that it incorporates a knurled area on the pin which grips the the inner hole. And KK's tracks have a beveled end which depends on friction to grip, instead of the old flat head design it will still need a light adhesive to keep the pin in as it is MUCH easier to remove than the IMPACT design, which will be quite a task to remove.

Even paint will work as to keep the KK pins in place.

I still like Kenny Kong tracks the best! Easier to purchase from and easier to work with if they ever need to be removed or installed.

Hi Jeff,

I agree on the pin removal.  Impact track pins fit into a blind hole, vs KK's fit into a through hole.  It's much easier to remove a KK track pin if needed.
