Another thought, does anyone sell a charging box? Something that will contain a fire or catch an explosion.

Those cheapy chargers with the RTF planes are not very powerful and  don't have the best balancing circuit thus why they take so long to charge.
The link I gave you for the chargers is about the cheapest you will find for a decent next-step up charger. I don't think you will find much for under that $25.00 shipped price.

As far as a explosion container you can use a military ammo box or a ceramic bowl and put a piece of  ceramic tile on top. If you take good care of your lipos , get a decent charger that will maintain and charge them properly ,you don't have to worry about them catching fire. If you drop one or crash and the battery is dented ,crushed, or split open you need to disable it and throw it away.

For storage at home, what's already been mentioned or; I use an old microwave or grille. Don't let them get hot (130F or above), cold (40F or below) and store at about 50% charge (3.6v/cell). Best performance is around 80-90F.

Make sure you put some sort of adhesive on the motor mount screws they like to come loose but other than that the flyzone switch is a blast to fly !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Haha I can see why the motor would need adhesive, that thing has a lot of thrust. In your oppinion which wing placement flys better trainer or sport? Does the plane have an overall tendency to be nose heavy? It seems like with everything in the nose it would be nose heavy.

I try to talk new guys with smaller electrict planes to take their prop off when pogramming their radio but if you can fit this in your plane its just the best protection from hurting themselfs. joe http://buyradiocontrolledplanes.com/radio-controlled-electric-planes/battery-arming-switch-safely-arm-and-disarm-your-rc-vehicles-maxx-products-6970/

Does this arm/disarm system work with every voltage? The other systems had different voltage with thinker chords for more electricity.

Iam running 3 and 4 cell 5000 size lipos in my sea plane and it has not melted yet.lol I think you are talking about the esc ? This goes between the esc and motor and stops the power only to the motor but it does not stop the servos from working . Once you are ready to fly you just plug it in the side of the fuse so the motor will work. Its for deans plugs so i keep another deans plug on my flight box so i can plug it into it so i dont loose it. lol good luck and be carefull. joe

Oh you just use the old wires, okay. I'm still deciding what I'm gonna do. I have got quite a few things to research, and stuff that may be more important that a plug. I have to set my priorities and number one is just getting out there and flying it once, then it's probably finding a better charger, then the arm/disarm system.

I understand but there is nothing more important than being carefull either by taking off your prop wile programing your plane or getting a disarming switch to protect your fingers. Its harder to fly with less fingers .lol Good luck and be carefull my friend. joe

We have already programmed the plane. My dad didn't take off the prop and let's just say there was a lot if excitement when I held the plane and we discovered the throttle was reversed haha.

You will love it.  That was my first plane and I am still flying it.  The motor bearing blew after a month of hard flying but the motor is only $30.00 so you should be fine.  Beware though the hinges will crack near the control horns.

Mine had a tendancy to be very tail heavey so I ended up puting the battery pretty far forward.

I was helping my brother finish his first foamy in his kitchen. He tended to be impatient, and we had almost completed it when we discovered the motor ran backwards. I wanted to get home and was packing up. He decide to reverse it using the reverse function on the transmitter    . The plane went full speed reverse across the floor and crashed into the wall, breaking the tail completely off. He was ready to blow so I got the heck out.

EddieC: that's awesome hahaha I'm guessing he was a mad, but who wouldn't? IIShoaf:My plane seems to be balanced well, but I can see why it would be tail heavy; it has a hollow nose but the tail seems to have more material than the nose. Do you know how to fix the control horn problem? I know it's probably glue, but is it bad enough it needs to be completely replaced?

Advice for everyone: STOP USING THE ANYLINK SYSTEM!! It was the cause of the destruction of my Switch! Don't let what happened to me happen to you!

My dad was test flying it, and he was all the way out if the throttle and the motor was going the equivalent to sputtering, then it took a sharp downward left turn while my dad was attempting to correct it, it's like the Anylink and receiver aren't talking the EXACT same language. Oh I forgot to mention after it wrecked the motor went full throttle and tore it off the motor mount.

Did you range test it first ?
Did you bench test the plane and make sure everything was working?
Did you make any of the changes or any modifications to it like your were wanting to in this thread?
