Hello, I'm looking for a copy of the manual or at the very least the CG point for a Green R/C mini Sopwith. I've got her all rigged up and ready to go...almost.

Thanks,
Kurt

Here you go:

http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=749694

Look under the section titled F;ying. The last sentence is "You need to find a CG about 50 to 55mm from the leading edge of the upper wing."

Hi,
Thanks but that is the bigger Camel Green R/C produced. I own that one too. (It's a great flying plane!) I was looking for the info on the smaller 26-1/2" wingspan version. I'm certain the same rules apply to it that the balance point is directly above the lower wing leading edge on the upper wing, but I just wanted to make sure. Was also looking for surface throws but I can normally guess pretty good on those too.

Cheers,
Kurt

Measure the horizontal distance from the leading edge of the top wing, to the trailing edge of the lower wing. Let's assume that figure is 400mm. A safe CG setting will be 25 to 30% of that figure, measured back from the leading edge of the upper wing.
So. balance the model at 25% of 400mm back from the leading edge of the top wing i.e. 100mm. Just substitute the correct figure for your particular model............works for all biplanes!

Hi,
Well I flew it today for the first time. It is a great little flyer! Plenty of power, easy to take off and land. But, it has one heck of a stall! If you can find one, get one. It is a great canidate for some detailing and weathering.

Too bad it was run into while taxing off of the runway, attacked by a big foamie Parkzone Trojan. Broke some wing struts, ribs and now has puncture wounds. Easy to fix and now it will get detailed and weathered.

Cheers,
Kurt
