Need to buy a replacement antennae for my Futaba 7 CAP transmitter. Is this the proper replacement antennae. It states that is for the
" 7 Series " radios, but not "CAP" specifically.

Thanks in advance
Cary

That antenna is for any 7C radio, as long as it isn't a 2.4Ghz 7C
There really are only 2 versions of the US 72Mhz 7C, Airplane and Helicopter. The P designation is used on sets bundled with a PCM receiver, but all 7C radios can be set to PCM and PPM mode.

The antennae separated on the second telescoping section. Can I silver solder the second section to the third section and make it usable until the replacement comes in ? This would keep the second section from collapsing into the third section-That I could live with. Just wanted to make sure it didn't cut down on the antennas performance in sending out a signal.

Thanks in advance

Cary

Man, its freezing up there. You gonna fly in 20 degrees????
We're wimps down here in SE Texas, ha, ha. Soldering the antenna shouldn't hurt the output, as long as the length is the same.

If you do a search for "ANT5" you'll find that the exact same part is sold as a Duratrax product for a little over half the price:

http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXD188&P=7

When I needed a new antenna for my Futaba 7CAF, I ordered the Duratrax part and saved three bucks. It's been flying great for years with the Duratrax branded antenna.

Why do the car guys always pay less?

If you haven't already ordered one, i've got two sitting in a drawer. I'll send them both to you if you still need one.
